5. The Luxury
The Luxury is located on the River Walk near to the San Antonio Museum of Art. It is a truly elite restaurant with fine haute cuisine that will leave you breathless. Some of the most popular items on the menu include good local beer and delicious upmarket sandwiches as well as lamb souvlaki, a crispy fish bahn mi and pulled pig. 4. NAO at the Culinary Institute of America
This is the newest location of the CIA. No, it’s not the intelligence agency filled with international spies, it is America’s best known cooking school.
The chefs at this restaurant are focused on providing top quality Latin American cuisine. That’s why you will find ingredients like huitlacoche, aji amarillo and nopales. The interesting thing is that all of these recipes are well packed into classic French recipes.
3. Sandbar Fish House
The Sandbar Fish House restaurant was opened back in 2009 by chef Andrew Weissman. It all happened after he closed Le Reve, one of the best french cuisine restaurants in the history of San Antonio. This is a little pricey place, but on the other hand the portions are truly satisfying. You will finds lots of sea food dishes on the menu prepared in a traditional Texas kitchen style. One of the best dishes is the creamy onion tart.
2. Schilo’s Delicatessen
You probably didn’t knew, but most of the US traditional dishes come from German cuisine. From hot dogs to home baked bread it all comes from this European power force. Beer is also a pretty big thing in the land of the Kaizers. You may need to wait for a table and it is sometimes hard to get a reservation, but it will pay out to sit and dine in this 50’s themed restaurant. Some of the specials include corned beef and cabbage, potato salad as a simple side dish and home brewed beer.
1.Rosario’s
In a city where Mexican food is pretty big this is probably the best restaurant of them all. It possesses a high end atmosphere with great artwork on its walls and some pretty cool chandeliers. The prices are reasonable and the servings size is pretty good as well. You must try the enchiladas, rajas de chile poblano con crema and the rich white pepper-and-onion dip.
