The Baseball College World Series isn’t a separate tournament, but just a part of the larger NCAA Division I Baseball Championship playoffs that begins in late-May of every year. The CWS officially begins after the Super Regionals have completed and the eight winners remain from the larger 64 team field that started the tournament.
The first round is called the Regionals and the second round is the Super Regionals and these rounds are played all over the country. Once the 2019 College World Series field is set, the eight Super Regional winners will then travel to Omaha, Nebraska and play out the remaining matches at TD Ameritrade Park to determine the College World Series champion.
