What to Know About Double Elimination Brackets
How does a double elimination bracket work with just six teams? Well, double elimination brackets are more complicated than the single elimination version of the bracket because losing teams move into a separate losers bracket where the one undefeated team awaits the one team that battles their way out.
With each team allowed only up to two losses, the typical 6-team bracket has several rounds of games that is only completed with a single champion. Keep those standard double-elimination rules in mind after you’ve downloaded and printed out the bracket. Here’s some other tournament bracket you can look at to get a better sense of how the number of teams impacts how a single elimination bracket works vs. a double elimination bracket:
- 6 team single elimination bracket
- 7-team single elimination bracket
- 8-team single elimination bracket
- 10-team bracket
- 12 team seeded bracket
- 16-team bracket
- 16 team bracket double elimination
