The NBA’s Top-Selling NBA Jerseys for 2005
In April 19th, 2005, the league put out a press release that listed out the best selling jerseys since the beginning of the 2004-05 NBA season. In his first season with the Miami Heat, Shaquille O’Neal teamed with Dwyane Wade to form a formidable duo that would lead the franchise to a 59-23 record and finished 1st in their division. Shaq’s jersey would be the #1 selling jersey that season and Wade, in his second season, would crack the top ten.
The Houston Rockets recently acquired Tracy McGrady jersey was the league’s second most-popular jersey. LeBron James, Stephon Marbury and Kobe Bryant rounded out the top five for the 2005 list. Here’s the rest of the list.

The Los Angeles Lakers were again the #1 team in terms of overall team gear and merchandise sales. With several players in the top 25 in jersey sales, the New York Knicks settled at #2 in terms of merchandise. Shaq’s popularity teaming up with Dwyane Wade’s upcoming star status pushed Miami Heat merchandise into fourth place right behind the Chicago Bulls.
