Video: LeBron James beats Turkoglu, Orlando at buzzer

In a must-win situation, the all-world superstar would hit a game-winning 25-foot three-pointer at the buzzer that lifted the Cleveland Cavaliers to a one-point win over the Orlando Magic 96-95.

The shot tied the series at one apiece.

The Cavs avoided losing both games in Cleveland, where they accumulated a 39-2 record, the league’s best home record during the regular season.

After the game James talked about his shot and referred to how Jordan, who also wore #23, used to torment the Cavs. “That was the biggest shot I’ve made in my career.” said James, the 2009 NBA MVP. “(Michael Jordan) is not in the league any more… the other 23 is on the good side now.”

Hedo Turkoglu’s Heroics all but forgotten
Before James’ amazing shot, perhaps the most exciting shot thus far in this year’s playoffs, the night belonged to Hedo Turkoglu.

The 6-9 forward from Istanbul, Turkey scored the Magic’s last five points; the game-tying three, and a pull up jumper that gave the Magic their final lead of the game.

With the clock ticking down, Turkoglu held the ball and waited for his chance to take the last shot of the game.  Hedo would make his move with 5 seconds remaining, drive and hesitate before hitting a floating, double-pump 12-footer over Sasha Pavlovic, Lebron James, and Delonte West giving the Magic a 95-93 lead with exactly one second left.

It was one second too much.

On Orlando’s previous play, Turkoglu had hit a 3-pointer with 48.7 seconds left that tied the game at 93-93, and completed a 23-point comeback for Orlando.

On the following possession, the Cavs appeared to have retaken the lead as LeBron James would hit a running left hand layup over Dwight Howard, but the 24-year old would be called for a travel.

That brings us to Turkoglu’s jumper and LeBron’s exciting game-winner.  You can watch a video of all four plays in the video below:
