The 2016 SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament is scheduled to be held between March 9th and March 13th, 2016. This year’s tournament will be held at the Bridgestone Arena located in Nashville, Tennessee. Similar to some of the other conference tournaments around the country this year, not all of the teams that participate in SEC regular season place will be eligible for the tourney.

The University of Missouri is serving a one year self-suspension for postseason play due to violations that occurred during Coach Frank Haith’s time as head coach. As a result, the #11 seed receives a first year bye for the tournament for this year only. The overall number one seed for the 2016 SEC Tournament is Texas A&M after winning the tie-breaker from the team’s head to head matchup with Kentucky. Although that game was decided by a controversial technical by officials against one of the Wildcat players, it poses to be an exciting tournament of postseason basketball.
