(TalkBasket) – Forward Linas Kleiza has been named the best Lithuanian basketball player of 2009.
The choice was made by a fan voting run by the Lithuanian Basketball Federation and the website delfi.lt.
The 24-year-old Olympiacos player received nearly 30 per cent of the votes, while Ramūnas Šiškauskas (CSKA Moscow) came second and Žydrūnas Ilgauskas (Cleveland Cavaliers) third. The Lithuanian international was surprised by the distinction and honoured, promising not to let the fans down.
