The first slate of games during the round of 16 is completed with Latvia, Greece, Spain, and France advancing to the quarterfinals.

The games played on Saturday, September 12, 2015 saw Latvia defeating Slovenia, France easily dispensing of Turkey, Spain downing Poland and Greece beating an overmatched Belgium team by 21.

The second batch of games starts on Sunday, September 13 to see who compete in the quarterfinals.

The first game of the day two features Croatia vs. The Czech Republic (Watch Live) at 12:00 local time.

The Czech Republic have really become a team to be reckoned with. With all the NBA players in the tournament, it’s unexpected that the Czechs may have the best one-two punch in Tomáš Satoranský-Jan Vesely. Satoranský is leading the field with a mind-boggling 8.4 assists. Not much to say about Croatia.

Croatia is still the favorite here and the roster is packed with talent. When you have big name players like Krunoslav Simon, Roko Ukic, Dario Saric, Mario Hezonja, Bojan Bogdanovic, Marko Tomas and Ante Tomic playing well together, you had better be the favorite.

The key is if Croatia can start the game strong, they’re very capable of maintaining that confidence throughout.

The second match of day two will pit Serbia vs. Finland at 14:30 local time.

Of all the Eurobasket teams (even Croatia) Serbia has looked like the most complete team; they look like they enjoy playing with one another and there’s a reason why they rank first overall in team assists. Even on a team so well-balanced, Serbia’s key player continues to be the crafty Milos Teodosic who leads the team in minutes and assists.

The Serbian team is anchored by the tall point guard as well as leading scorer Nemanja Bjelica, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Nemanja Nedovic in the middle.

They’ll look to remain unbeaten against a scrappy Finnish team led in scoring by Erik Murphy at 13.4 points per game.

For Team Finland (2-3) to have a chance, they will not only have to play a great game on both sides of the court, but will need Serbia to make several missteps, too.

The winners of their games will move onto the quarterfinals and will still have a chance to claim one of the two bids to the 2016 Olympics. On the other hand, the loser will not get a chance at a berth to the Olympics in Brazil nor will they get to participate in the 2016 Qualifying Tournament ahead of the games.
