Team World should dominate the Rising Stars Challenge

maxresdefault (1)

This year’s Rising Star Challenge has a slightly different format. Instead of the usual Rookie vs. Sophomore matchup we’ll be seeing combined rosters of first year and second year players separated in two teams – World vs. USA. With the big emerge of young foreign players in the NBA this sounds pretty interesting. Here are the full rosters:

It’s clear that the players on the World team roster have better seasons than their counterparts on the USA team roster. Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the main players on a surprisingly well ranked Bucks’ squad and all of the other second year players on the team have breakthrough years. It doesn’t hurt that they also have Mirotic and Wiggins out there, one of the best rookies of the 2015 season till now.

Team USA has gathered a squad of mainly defensive orientated players with exceptional athleticism. Most of their second year players had trouble with injuries or decreased playing time during the season. We expect couple of attractive dunks from Zach LaVine and Victor Oladipo, but that’s probably it. Nerlens Noel could surprise us as well.
