The Los Angeles Lakers are entering their post-Dwight Howard phase, and the first move they made was signing 31-year-old veteran center Chris Kaman.
Kaman, who last played for the Dallas Mavericks, agreed to a one-year deal worth a little over $3 million with the L.A. franchise that was spurned by Howard last Friday.
While Kaman isn’t the center that Howard is, he is a solid piece to go along with Pau Gasol, as last season Kaman averaged 10.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
Kaman probably isn’t a part of the long term future plans of the Lakers, but if he can stay healthy, he will be a nice pickup for the Lakers at a decent price.
