Euroleague Quarterfinals Game 1: Recap

In the Euroleague’s Top 8, game one results and summaries:

  • CSKA Moscow 56-47 Partizan: Erazem Lorbek is the only player to score in double-figures, scoring 16 points for CSKA.  Viktor Khryapa adds 8 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists as CSKA beats Partizan.  Uros Tripkovic scores 12 points for Romain Sato Montepaschi Siena (Getty Images)Partizan, who shot only 40% as a team.  (discuss the game)
  • Panathinaikos 90-85 Montepaschi Siena: Nikola Pekovic comes off the bench to score a team-high 21 points off the bench for Panathinaikos, leading 5 players in double figures.  Vassilis Spanoulis and Mike Batiste each add 14 points, Drew Nicholas 13 points, and Antonis Fotsis 11 points for Panathinaikos.  Romain Sato (pictured right), from the Central African Republic, led Montepaschi Siena with game-highs of  29 points and 9 rebounds.  American point guard Terrell McIntyre added 27 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals for Siena.   • Olympiakos 88-79 Real Madrid: Lynn Greer and Nikola Vujcic each score 19 points and Theo Papaloukas’ passes for a Euroleague playoff record 13 assists for Olympiakos.  Louis Bullock led Madrid with 15 points, followed by Raul Lopez’s 11 points. (discuss the game)
  • Tau Ceramica 84-75 F.C. Barcelona:  Behind Argentine point guard Pablo Prigioni’s all-around game (17 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds), Tau Ceramica defeats F.C. Barcelona on their homecourt.  Igor Rakocevic added 15 points for Tau Ceramica.   Juan Carlos Navarro scored 17 points and Ersan Ilyasova 14 points for F.C. Barcelona. (discuss the game)
  • NBA News: Tony Parker scores game-high 30 points and has game-high 10 assists as the San Antonio Spurs squeak by the Golden State Warriors 106-105 last night.  Parker has averaged 25.9 points in the last 9 games, scoring 21+ points in each.  However, the Spurs have won only 5 of those 9 games.   Linas Kleiza was fined $25,000 by the NBA for verbally abusing an official after the Nuggets defeated the Wizards 116-105.
