The 2014 NBA Playoffs kicked off on Saturday, April 19^th, 2014. The opening round of the playoffs take place over the second half of April prior to the NFL Draft occurring in early May. 2014 marks a rarity for the NBA with the Boston Celtics, LA Lakers, and New York Knicks all failing to make the playoffs this season. 2014 also marks the playoff debut for a number of young players to include John Wall of the Washington Wizards, DeMar Derozan of the Toronto Raptors, and Terrence Jones of the Houston Rockets. Although the Pacers are the over #1 seed, many favor LeBron James and the Miami Heat to repeat as NBA champions for a third straight season.
