2014 NBA Draft Lottery Results
The 2014 NBA Draft Lottery took place on May 20th, 2014, and the Cleveland Cavaliers were able to win the overall #1 Draft Lottery pick for the second consecutive year and fourth time in the past 11 years (2003, 2011, 2013). Despite only a 1.7% shot at winning the #1 pick for this year’s draft, the Cavs were able to earn the pick in the 2014 NBA Draft lottery results beating out both the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers for the pick. The odds were favored with the #2 and #3 picks, with the Milwaukee Bucks and 76ers earning those picks respectfully.
What Player will Get Picked First in the 2014 NBA Draft?
Well, this is a healthy topic to debate. Up until just recently, it seemed as though Joel Embiid would be taken with the first overall pick by the Cavs. With the amount of time that he is going to be out of action with his foot injury, it appears as though the Cavs may very well draft Andrew Wiggins with the number 1 pick. Things could still change again; however, so we will all just have to wait and see how the Cavs front office manages the injury front with who they take to kick off the draft. A slight third possibility is that Cleveland drafts Jabari Parker; however, most believe that Wiggins’ game would be a better fit playing alongside Dion Waiters and Kyrie Irving. The next tier of players in the draft appear to be Aussie guard Dante Exum, Kentucky PF Julius Randle, and OK State point guard, Marcus Smart with Embiid being assessed as dropping no lower than the Lakers in the seven slot in the draft.
