Arab Basketball Championship UAE 2010-2011 [15 May - 25 May]

all what i can say that Riyadi are in a big disaster tommorow they will face the Team that they faced in Finals of Lebanon when they won 3-0 the serie ,but tomorrow they will face the team who had 5/5 wins with no loses in Round 1 in ARAB ,so all what i can say good luck for both teams

oh now he's a drug addict

when you tell a player 'we don't need you anymore and this is your last championship' after an extraordinary year being MVP of the year in the league and the best import in WABA what did you expect ?

Ismail came and everything turned to crap.
don't tell me they've won the league with Som3a coz it was just one import change Loren for Ismail

now they have the WABA players added to the league and Ismail, lack of chemistry, players out of system , Ali's injury and a bad management every time they bring someone out of the blue and expect in 10 days to win Arab and Asia...it's always same problem.

6 players playing pos 4 & 5 = wrong formation.

Send Ismail away keep Nate, Loren Ali when he's back Omar Ali K or Billy on 4
Jean will recover shway shway if they want to bring Fadi fine

A team full of stars lacks chemistry.

The key of Champville's success is that they kept every single player with them and brought one additional import which sometimes they were playing with only 2 on court.
and now after Lee's injury they are starting the game with one import and then Jay comes in.

nate was proved to be doping with a lot of other foreigner players in our league including larry cox and j. youngblood, but mysteriously the second doping test was negative for all players except champville's foreigners, maybe charlock holmes can solve this obvious mystery.
i don't know what's happening to riyadi, the only think i know is that they don't deserve to win tomorrow's game, champville are playing real basketball despite playing with 2 foreigners and with a depleted bench.

unlike Riyadi they are still playing with the same roster.

Hay hay ... who the Hell deleted my Post !?
It's my Opinion and nobody can Stop me from saying it :( Yeah Riyadi's Ass got kicked 3 times in a row and hope tomorrow be kicked for the 4th Time ....

We said stay on Earth but nobody understood , you keep doing the Mistake as for 2009 CLOWNS !

but isn't this roster the same one they used in west asia against mahram and al-jalaa syria?the only new memeber is ismael ahamad.so,what's missing the team?

true but remember the starting 5 of Riyadi in WABA and FLB league was the same.

now we have Jean recovering back Nate careless Ali injured Omar lost confidence cause Jean is playing more than him also Ismail-Woods isn't the perfect combination plus the thing with Fadi coming to play in Asia will confuse any player in that position since Fadi is a leader and that means basically one of the regular guys in the team will sit on the bench in Asia...they should have not announce Fadi's coming in Asia

About Nate's doping i believe doing such thing will let a player be powerful physically like he can't get tired...what about his shots, his percentage it's dropped massively he used to make every single one of them.

As for Chemistry problems:

Jean - Ismail
Ismail - Woods
Nate - Ismail - Woods
Ismail - Moe
Ismail - Ali K
Ismail - Billy

even the rest of the guys they played 6 games together with Ismail

The game Riyadi played last night was simply appalling/disgusting...

The team simply is playing without any energy like they don't even care...

Coach FAC didn't even say anything... He just had his hands crossed the whole time.

Riyadi imo shouldn't have participated in this tournament if they wanted to come here to the UAE for vacation... I have more things to say regarding this but out of respect for Riyadi I will not say them...At least for now that is.

I hope all the fans today just cheer for Lebanon and Lebanese basketball (instead of Riyadi or Champville) and may the best team win and hopefully compete for the Championship.

I wasn't even in the mood to take pics yesterday so I only took a few:

The game between Sal and Dar Al Baydaa was quite entertaining and went to OT even though Sal would still qualify in first place from their group even if they lost the game (which is what happened)...

Dar Al Baydaa (Algeria) kept fighting till the end not only to get their first victory but also since was like a duel/battle between Algeria and Morocco, the 2 North African Countries.

Some pics from the game:

imo riyadi's problem now is the following :
Nate knowing the fact that he's not joining for Asia, which means wether he played or not in arab, its already done for him ( and probably wont come back next year , since ish signed for 3 years ).
the come back of jean and woods was a disaster, the first took omar's place ( which killed the confidence of omar, and woods is a dead man playing ) i would have tried ali kanaan as a starter.
second, its the lack of management and the worst long term planning ever .
But again, i'll say what i said in the lebanese basketball group, regardless of who's gona read this post ...
The only reason why riyadi is winning the lebanese league, is bcz of the size advantage gained by Joe Vogel.
when they played the last 3 teams in arab pan, they had zero size advantage... so they lost!
I'm cheering for champville, as always...

why is everywhere written that the first match is
Karekh (Iraq) v/s Ahli Sadab (Oman)

when it should be Sharja playing the Iraqis...

Can someone close to this PLEASE find the stats for the game? This is really bush league that nothing is ever posted. Who is running this tournament? Is there a local paper that has this?

I just watched the game between Champville and Riyadi. Champville won narrowly, by the way.

Usually, I don´t watch a lot of Middle East basketball so I am not an expert at all but I was kind of shocked at the lack of quality of the import players, on both teams. I heard that these teams pay big money for their import guys and I wonder why. You can see that they are not motivated at all, even though they might have been good one day, especially Loren Woods and Nate Johnson. They look as if they are only collecting paychecks, Johnson could not even inbound the ball in the key possession of the 4th quarter and then he was smiling while losing the game. The Egyptian big guy was horrible, too, only complaining all the time.

Garnett Thompson is an athletic streetball player but he has no basketball IQ, at all. The only import I liked a bit was Youngblood. I had seen him at Kent and in Austria before, he is skilled and can do different things on the court but he probably makes the least money of all those guys.

I was also disappointed in El-Khatib; I had heard so much about him. You can see that he is skilled but he forces too much and looks kind of old.

The guy I liked best was the SG on Champville; he made key three pointers, played smart and did not force anything.

I wonder why the teams don´t sign younger, hungry guys for less money...

The game you just watched Was between two teams with a huge dif in budgets...
riyadi's budget is like 3X champville's ...
And champville were missing the american center Lee benson , due to an injury since game 2 in this tourney .
Jay youngblood's salary is the lowest between all 6 imports, not to mention that lorren woods is getting paid per month more than the starting line up for champville :)
Garnett thompson joined the team for this cup , so the chemistry with him is a bit " under construction " ... but he did well in my opinion .
as for the SG ur talking about , his name mazen mneimneh, and yes he's the key factor in the game... he did extremly well !
