Let me try to understand what you're trying to say, int'l basketball relies more on ball movement rather than individual isolatiions, Ok i can buy that, And you're saying USA basketball realizes that as evidence by their change of approach from a dream team pick up system to one of more continuity (3 years program of Coach K, a college coach rather than a pro). Ok you have some merit there. Just be careful with your choice of words. e.g. thrives on system. as some systems take advantage of isolations, e.g . Triangle offense or drive and kick. While it relies less on ball movement it still is a system.
I would't be to harsh on PBA coaches like Yeng and chot, they are knowlegeble in their own right. What they might not have is the respect and reputation from FIBA referees and probably the same amount of experience in FIBA format tournaments (9 straight games) and rules (zone, goal tending rules).
I think what you are trying to say in regards to referees being "higher" than coaches /players is the tolerance level of referees on coaches and players complaint. Again a lot of this has to do with reputation. Toroman can scream his ass of and not get a technical , while if Chot stands up abruptly he could be called a technical. Call it double standards but it all comes with gaining respect.
Partying and being un- disciplined matters in regardless if you play internationally, college or in the pros
Chemistry and roles are important in regardless if you play the pro or international game.
