Its not only in Basketball .... a lot of corporate sponsors we had in the past have now declined supporting sports teams and events. Even the San Miguel Group is very selective on which teams or events they are to support. When you approach the different Multi-National Corporations, commonly being said is that its the Group of MVP that should be approached and not them.

Its really sad as fewer and fewer could afford to help and I see at some point in the future there would be a saturation point for MVP being a Sports Philanthropist as more and more sports are becoming more dependent on him for assistance with the Government decreasing more and more of its financial backing in sports.

Due to the fast changing technology, sports is increasingly becoming more expensive to maintain. The Philippines not being a rich country financially is affecting our growth in sports as we are having a hard time keeping pace with the rest of the world.

thats the sad reality though. i am thankfull mvp is giving full support to the sport i love the most. i've got nothing to complain.i'll just be thankful.

wow big news had me real interested.. icon means jawo or allen caidic level.. to smart gilas.. or to the patriots in abl.. no clue here, just guessing
 
GILAS eyeing COACHES TIM CONE & JONG UICHICO to be part of the coaching pool. SBP officials to springboard GILAS 2 on the coaching pool.
 
i would love to see stephen holt,banchero,pringle and standhardinger in gilas 2.0 kahit d na ma retain si toroman :) as long as we get this guys... + McGee
for me i would love to see Jong as our Head Coach... if they will not renew toroman...

ONE MAN, ONE ICONIC MAN - Jaworski has been an icon for decades for LEGION of FANS.

so we expect an announcement from he BIG j itself

Wow that's a suprise, but I'm all for it and have no complaints. Jong has proven to be a good int'l coach and really does his homework. I think we are in good hands, Maybe chot should be the manager.

isn't coach kong is w/ the san Miguel group, while Smart gilas team is owned by MVP? How was that possible? (u know what I mean)

When was the last time coach jong coached in international competition? 2002 Busan Asian Games, right? That was 10 years ago. Asian basketball hasn't been the same since then.

This is a very controversial decision. We could expect, this would be the most talk about topic in the basketball comunity in the days to come.
 
coach jong did manage a role as assistant coach to coach chot last 2007.

I hope so! But to be honest, i still can't shake such a surprise off my mind. i really didn't expect this. I thought Chot Reyes was the strongest candidate, perhaps Norman black 7 Tim cone comes 2nd & 3rd.
