Are we to believe that it was solely Ginebra’s decision to back out of the Japeth Aguilar trade negotiations without any counter incentives provided to Global Port to hold on to Jap’s rights. :) . Hint question , tell me who else benefited from Jap staying in Globalport instead of going to the evil empire ? :)

There were rumors that TNT willingly gave up Japeth Aguilar (and Sol Mercado) to Global Port under the condition that they will not trade Aguilar to any of the SMC teams.

Whether this is true or not was doused by the SMC's camp statement that they themselves backed out of the agreement that would have sent Aguilar packing to Ginebra.

There will come a time when we will see Aguilar suiting up for Ginebra soon. Not at this time yet though...

And will confirm that Romero is indeed just an SMC puppet. We'll see.

Jaywash has been playing well lately and making Eala ook like again genius for a moment lol

well there was a news where mikee said they will keep aguilar at least this conference. i just can't freaking find the link again. grrr.

And probably the next conference too (meaning the entire season)

It's just bad (and obvious!) business if they trade away Aguilar now as the team is successful.

Yeah keep him until Gilas still needs his services.

Maybe that was the plan all along - TNT agrees to a trade between Rabeh and Aguilar on the condition that Mikee Romero holds on to Japeth for at least a year so that he can still join Gilas. Because if he was shipped to Ginebra, Gilas Pilipinas wouldn't be able to have him and LA together in lieu of the strict one-player-per-team policy of SMC.

well if its true then too bad for GP. im sure GP would get an old player in exchange for aguilar. i hope this isn't true though. GP has been showing a lot of promise. if they trade aguilar then i don't think they can sustain.

Things might change. Who knows? Though Japeth only signed a one-year contract, GP and many of us here didn't expect he'd play this great. Even Chot Reyes is shocked but at least its our national team that will also benefit from Mikee Romero's early franchise turnaround.

Do remember though that was what we had been saying that for the previous GP Big Three too (Casio, Lassiter and David).

Interesting. Jay-R involved? J. Wilson involved? And I thought she has only been trying to hook up Balkman with Dondon's ex nowadays...

There are players under contract who are categorized as on reserve like IBN favorite Eman Monfort and now in the Toroman doghouse, Roger Yap.

But I do not know exactly how Global treats their practice players who are not under contract. Different teams have different ways of compensating practice players who are not under contract.

Some players just go to practice for free and are just hoping their sacrifice would be rewarded in due time. Good examples are Jonathan Uyloan of Rain Or Shine and Aaron Aban of Talk N Text.

Usually teams gives taxi allowance and packed lunch per practice. But I heard the more wealthy teams gives 5k to 8k for being a practice player.

As far as I know, Monfort has a fracture on his hand(second time same place), and Roger Yap also injured from the begining, had(or will have) surgery.

may they be in the reserved list or injury list, they're still players with live contracts with Barako Bull. They are however not among those practice players who are more after the possibility they'll be given a chance than what they are currently receiving as practice players.

She could simply be referring to the number of imports in the PBA that are being managed by her. Currently, there are 4 imports under her stable namely:

Eric Dawson of Meralco
Justin Williams of Global Port
Renaldo Balkman of Petron
Robert Dozier of Alaska

Another import, Vernon Macklin of Ginebra, has just arrived so that makes it 5. #6 could be Rodney White, who might be brought back by Barako Bull to replace Evan Brock.

PBA All Star game: Gilas vs PBA All star
I guess Noli Eala is right, they need to add Imports so that Gilas will be challenged.

PBA ALL STARS + IMPORTS

Bruno Sundov
Renaldo Balkman
Justine Williams
Arwind Santos
Danny Seigle
Calvin Abueva
Nino Canaleta
James Yap
Mark Caguioa
Mac Cardona
JV Casio
Sol Mercado

If Japeth looks for playing time, he should stay at GP. At GSM he will the likes of Hatfield, Kerby and Rico M. to compete for minutes. But of course, this is not his call.

I want Yeng to be the coach of the All-Stars+Imports. :D
