Wonderful sign. He was one of the top 5 best players in Israel last season playing for Hapoel Eilat and led them to the semi final. Very athletic, great shooter, but right now we'll see if he beongs to the highest level. I believe that he is.

Croatian media write rumours:

Bogdanovic resigned with Fenerbahce till 2016 for 4,3 M euros with option to leave for NBA after evrey season?
Unicaja rejected 650k for Zoric , they wannt 1M?
Planinic agreed with Galatasaray 1M for season?

From the sources I read he is a great offensive talent. He can play SG/SF positions. Can you tell us if he is good at defensive end? And can he be called as a warrior?

Doubtful.I mean wasn't pat calathes the mvp of the israeli league, had a better year than hopson and he was better at kolossos also (they didn't play the same year but pat was clearly better there too).
And pat ended up in astana not a EL level team.Israeli league is a very weak league where teams play a run n gun game that inflates their numbers you will rarely find players going straight up tfrom there to the highest level.Kitchen also comes to mind..

He mostly plays as a SG, and no, he cannot be called as a warrior, his defensive skills is not something to tell about but he is a great shooter and he is very good offensively with good pct. from mid-range and 3pt. He never played in the highest level of the EL so it'll be very interesting to see, I think that he is capable to help you guys.

Rockets will not offer a contract to Papanikolaou this year because they do not have salary cap space, but they also will not trade his rights with the intention of signing him next year when his contract with Olympiakos ends according to a report in the Houston Chronicle that indicates Papanikolaou's desire to come to the NBA this year.

Who said that Calathes was the MVP?? No he wasn't, it was Gal Mekel. Yes, Calathes had a great year, no, he didn't succee more then Hopson in personal level. Beside, with all the respect to efes, Hopson isn't going to Barca, CSKA or PAO. Efes just lost Farmar, they are considered as anavarage team in the EL and I don't see why Hopson cannot succe there. The Israeli league is not that great, the Turkish one is not better by much. We already saw the level of Fener and Besiktas last year, and Fener had x2 budget then us. Maybe it'll change this season with coach Obraodvic', but I don't think that Haifa for example couldn't handle with the Turkish clubs last season. Hopson is a great player and he can either fail or succee, but I don't see a real reason why shouldn't he succee.

Oh, and the fact that Pat prefered money (around 600K) over a better then either say that he is not as great as he was in Haifa, or that he prefers money over a better club. It surely doesn't tell you that he is a better or worst player then Hopson.

Calathes was the finals MVP my bad,but the history shows that israeli league alone is not a great indicator of your carrer in the highest european level. Also Efes was a top8 team last year and lost the series in the fifth game against the eventual EL champions, not exactly a mediocre team as you descibe it.But OK you,ve seen him more than me so you maybe know something I haven't seen.

With all the respect to Efes, don't forget that they lost Farmar and yet signed a replacement in his caliber (or at least something close). Right now they are not the Efes who arrives to the top 8 and like I said, Hopson can either succee or fail, but it's like he is going to some major club where it'll be difficult for him to fit in (like Kitchen, for example). I don't think that the strength of the league will effects his performance in a better/worse league.

efes got rid of kerem tunçeri and sinan güler, this is a big plus.
if they sign huertas, i expect them to be much better than the last year.

When they'll complete their roster, we can give an esstimate but right now they seem weaker then last year.

I don't think that they are weaker...
Tunçeri and Güler's departure made them stronger already...

This is the current Efes roster:

XXX - Açık - Balbay
Gordon - Hopson
XXX - Batuk
Savanovic - Gönlüm
Erden - Barac - Kılıçlı

2 good additions will make Efes roster a Top 8 material for sure...
For example Huertas and Vasiliadis...

Another thing;
I believe that Oktay Mahmuti is one of the best coaches in Europe, who can make great job with limited rosters.
He doesn't like and can't get on well with stars like Farmar, Solomon who doesn't play for the team.
Every player must play for the team in his system.

So, this year Mahmuti has chance to build his team, that's a big plus for Efes.
Last years roster was not what Mahmuti likes exactly...

Until they finish to build their team, we cannot know for sure. The fact that they reached to the top-8? We also reached there and we had much weaker team then Efes.

I respectfully disagree... even if they didn't perform well last year, both Tunceri and Guler are good, experienced back-up players, and I personally would've liked to see them in any team that I support (i.e., Efes & NT)... but Efes is not paying me to make these decisions, so it's fine :p
