Accomodation in Kaunas during 2011Eurobasket

I can offer a beautiful private flat for rent in Kaunas (final stage of the Eurobasket), about 30 min. by foot to arena, 10 min. by car. Accomodation for 2-4 people 2 rooms with (double beds),TV, kitchen, bathroom with shower and big bath, auto parking. 110 km to Panevėžys city; 65 km to Alytus city; 103 km to Vilnius city; 156 km to Šiauliai city. Price: 150 Euro per per night.

Hello everybody! I'm from Italy and I'd like to go to Siauliai to watch some of the matches there. I would like to ask: is Siauliai a nice city? I mean can you find a lot of young people there? And is there a really big hostel where to meet a lot of young people? Thank you in advance!
 
Hello everybody! I think I'm gonna be in Siauliai for the first round since Italy will be there. Since I'm going there alone, I wanted to ask if there's somebody who wants to share the 2 adults tent in the basketball fans camp! I would be really happy, not just to share the tent, but also to meet people from other countries(no fight if our teams play one against the other :D). Let me know!
 
Does someone from Lithuania knows anything about this basketball kamp? I read that the temperatures in september can be pretty low in Kaunas so i don't know if sleeping in a tent is such a good idea...

If someone can advise me, please do.

The average temperature in september in Lithuania is ~15 C.During the begging of that month,it's still pretty warm,but that doesn't last really long.It really depends on how long you're planning to sleep in a tent really.If you'll only come there in the beggining of the championship for a few days,than I think you could try to sleep in a tent,but if you're going to be there for a longer period of time,I would suggest you to find a hotel.

There is no bad weather, only bad clothes (tents, bags, etc.).
Anyway, it's all about your traveling abilities ;)

I am renting a chalet (during Eurobasket 2011) 10 mins away by car from the Basketball Arena. It´s a newly built chalet with 2 bedrooms, spacious living room with a fire place, fully equiped kitchen, 1 bathroom (with a shower and a bath) and the toilet on the first floor. The house has an alarm security system.

Available for four people. If needed, 3 more sleeping places can be arranged, so totally 7 people can stay over very comfortably.

Kaunas Airport-Panevezys - Transportation

I am travelling into Kaunas Airport on 30th August 22:46 and need to get to/from Panevezys for Eurobasket. I seem to be abit stuck finding how to get there.

Nearest I have found is a "Flybus" that travels from Kaunas Airport-Riga that runs earlier in the day.

Can anyone help?

My proposal would be to go to hotel near Kaunas bus station (http://www.magnushotel.lt/en) and spend a night there. There is a Shuttle Bus which drives through all major Kaunas hotels and stations including hotel I mentioned and its timetables are made according the flight times (http://www.goshuttlebus.lt/en/). An on 31st in the morning take the bus to Panevezys from Kaunas bus station. (Tickets: http://www.autobusubilietai.lt/index.php?sid=4f0f67edcdc082670033c673503b1875&cl=planning&lang=1).

Of course there may be a posibility that during Eurobasket some new routes will be made, but for now there is no information about it.

I am organizing transportation for 5-6 people groups. Picking up from any airport (Vilnius, Kaunas, Ryga) to Fan Camps, Hotels, etc. in Šiauliai, Klaipėda, Panevežys.
Then we may arrange everyday trips to Games and back and so forth as you wish.
