Heo Hoon finished his college ball career on a high note. 30pts versus KU to eliminate them, whom tormented him for the past 3 years. That's against rival and good friend Kim Nak-Hyeon.

Lee Dae Sung was selected 20th overall by Erie Bay Hawks in the G-League draft. From the reports, they liked his shooting, height and ability to athleticism.

The following are out for Korea's NT campaign for November:

Kim Sun-Hyung - fractured ankle - 12 weeks post surgery recovery

Kim Jong-Kyu - Ligament swelling in ankle. Needs 4 weeks of rehab.

Kim Jong-Kyu could miss some games due to a bone bruise in his knee due to an injury sustained vs China. Kim was a late insertion for Korea heading into training camp and it is quite ironic that he is the only one slated to miss games after the FIBA Windows.

For February 2017, Hur Jae and the KBA need to evaluate the health of Jong-Kyu given that he has played non-stop since 2011. Besides the fact that its only Jong-Kyu and Lee Jong-Hyun are the 6'9 players that can be called up, unless Ha Seung-Jin will be considered by his former coach.

Roster moves:

OUT Heo Hoon = IN Lee Dae-Sung
OUT Yang Hee-Jong = IN Yang Hong-Seok
OUT Jong-Kyu = IN Ricardo Ratliffe

Korea should also groom 6'9 college players Ha Yeonggi and Lee Yoon-Su to be next in line.

The following players are highly unlikely for February:

LG Sakers - C Kim Jong-Kyu (knee injury)
LG Sakers - PG Kim Si-Rae (Ankle inflammation)
SK Knights - Kim Sun-Hyung (Ankle fracture)

Since Lee Jong-Hyun is playing well, he'll automatically start at center. The reserve backup at center is Choi Bukyung at 200cm or 221cm Ha Seung-Jin could be reactivated.

For PG, Wonju's Doo Kyung-Min is the best guard in Korea right now and presents a huge upgrade over Si-Rae when it comes to durability and his ability to create. Heo Ung should be replaced by 194cm Lee Daesung, who just returned from his D-League experience. Lee is a huge upgrade over Heo as he can play SG or SF. 194cm Yang Hee-Jong could make way for 200cm SF Yang Hong-Seok, who is younger and has more upside.

The recent Kookmin Bank Cup demonstrated how Lim Dong-Seop (Samsung) is considered as top 3 of the KBL's SF. Averaged 14ppg and 8.8rpg on a team that includes Lee Seung-Hyun.

Lim played for Korea in the Asia Cup but Hur Jae made the mistake in calling up Yang Hee-Jong, who is at the last legs of his career. Lim, Choi Joon-Young and Yang Hong-Seok should be in the pool.

who are your next opponents next month?

Korea has a rematch with NZ and then HK.

I'll put korea at the upperhand against tall blacks. Well, tb looks like a different with paul henare. They become weaker right now compared when nenad vucinic was handling the team.

Korea's newest export: 200cm SF Lee Hyun-Jung, a product of the U16 and U17 NT from Samil HS. He will be training overseas, bypassing the KUBL in his dreams to reach the American NCAA one day.

January - Train in the Australian Global NBA Academy
February - Las Vegas player development camp / games with AAU selections
March - AIS in Au
April Onwards - Find a prep school to get into the NCAA

Last time a prospect tried this route was Goyang's Choi Jin-Soo, who ended up with Maryland but left early to get drafted in the 2011 KBL draft.

About the Canberra Global Academy, it is 7 foreigners and 5 Australians as scholarship holders. I always had the impression that they were offered 1 or 2 year scholarships, like the AIS/College of Excellence. I DO know that his March 2018 stint must be at the global Academy as the AIS/COE don't accept foreigners. I would be interested to know if Tanaka is still in Canberra.

After being snubbed from the national team last November, despite playing well in EABA 2017 prior to the Asia Cup, Doo Kyung-Min is averaging: 16.4 points 3.9 assists 3.0 rebounds in 34 games in the KBL.

Ministry of Justice approves the 'special naturalization' process of Ricardo Ratliffe. He will begin the formal procedures of acquiring a Korean nationality.
