Korea's most indispensable big man today is Kim Jong-Kyu who emerged when Oh Se-Keun was unavailable in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016 with a solid record of games started and the the first option at center. Jong-Kyu allows Korea to play the pick and roll game with potency. He combines the athleticism that Se-Keun once had and the ability to shoot at the perimeter, something that Se-Keun developed only 2 years ago.

Problem with Se-Keun now is his mobility and the loss of his vertical jumping. His rebounding, pick and roll game and blocking are likewise at a downtrend compared to his pre-KBL days.

Jong kyu played very well because he us a good recipient of passes from tj moon and doesnt need to worked his ass off to defend the haddadis and fajardo's kasi si oh is their bruiser noticed the hugee let down in jorea in 2015 and 2016 all with no oh.. and how gilas defeated korea in 2013 with a 6'4 pingris as top center..

This is where Oh Se-Keun and Kim Jong-Kyu were able to survive despite them not being shotblockers: Kim Joo-Sung, often the designated helper inside. Lee Jong-Hyun covers for both now.
 
From the Universiade team, the following are ready to take the next step to the seniors, albeit a bit late.

Park Jong-Hyun - 204cm PF who is agile, can post up and has the medium range shot. Must work on his post passing game and that three.

Kang Sangjae - Already played in 2015 and 2016 but his emergence as a moderns stretch four allows Korea to have another Lee Seung-Hyun type of player, a mobile four that can shoot threes.

Byeon Jeon-Hyeong - We've seen him in the U18 and U19 but not the senior level. A combo guard that can really create his shot. Needs to improve his three point consistency though.
 
With entry of Ricardo Ratliffe a strong guy like Oh, the latter can lie low on nt duties but I really think they need a dynamic player ala TJ Moon to be a contender..Lee Seung Jun is a sure shot but not as dynamic as moon..

Ricardo Ratliffe's naturalization is not 100% sure as lawmakers could ultimately turn it down due to the "special naturalization" route that Samsung and the KBA are pushing. If it were the prescribed naturalization process, it will more likely attain merit and gain approval.

I think there will not be another Moon Tae-Jong type of calibre for Korea, unless Choi Joon-Young becomes 100% better than he is now.

he is good he is smart but again gregory stevenson is a different animal, although i think he become a more better player as he gets older.. Lee Seung jun also a tall spot anywhere player but not a threat on any other facets of the game yet..
 
Ulsan's Lee Daesung was recently invited in the player showcase tryout for the NBA G-League. The last Korean to chase the NBA dream via the D-League was Bang Sung-Yoon.

They really put Philippines as a good team, but they knew that like what we did in china, they knew how to get our number. You can call it extra motivation, extra confidence that they can get good shots on our defense and tbey are never get confused on unpreducrable but in reality one on one offense..
 
Ricardo Ratliffe now back with the Samsung Thunder camp and he recently told the press that "he wants this naturalization process sorted" so he can play for the national team. Basing on the press statement issued by Samsung, the 'special naturalization" case of Ratliffe is still under process but has a target of completion for late September. This makes Ratliffe eligible for the November WC qualification games.

This Yeo Jun-Seok kid is pretty good. Needs to train with the seniors in 2 years time.

 
According to the press, the naturalization process for Ratliffe has started and is gaining progress. KBA and KBL are endorsing it to the sport ministry and the civil registry. Samsung is financing the expense incurred.
 
So ratliffe will have new phone models in his lifetime, maybe even television at his household..
 
Chung Ang's Yang Hong-Seok has declared for the 2017 KBL Draft. He was mostly benched during the Asia Cup but it was a tremendous eexperience for him as it influenced his decision to seek out a higher level of competition outside that of the KUBL where he is already a proven scorer in his sophomore season. He can grow tremendously as a player in the KBL.

Yang's entry means Yonsei's Heo Hoon's top pick projection has competition.
