For a player like Rogers. If the pay is quite handsome he would not mind being a stand in..

But the fact that Denzel has been away from basketball since october is quite serious.. one thing why Noli and guys bat for longer 2nd conference wink wink ;)

i wonder what happened to him? is he still at odds with toroman?

Yes, he is. Tough luck for Barako as both Monfort and Cruz are also at sick bay, decimating their otherwise crowded PG spot. Looks like its going to be Urbiztondo and Villanueva sharing PG duties.

I think due to the players conditioning, the Barako Bull players are falling like flies due to injuries. That hectic spartan training of Coach Rajko Toroman which Filipino players are not used to could be taking its toll. I think our players need to really change their habits as I saw the benefits of such training to the original Smart Gilas. However truth is that a number of our Professional Players really looks not to be in tip-top-shape but are also not in the form that a healthy athlete should be.

Not really, Monfort's i believe was a fluke injury and Intal's is from a previous one.

what about barroca, baracael, guevarra? that's an accurate observation of yours. .....

But in fairness if Douthit is injury prone.. yari LOL..Asi also brags about twice a day practice with Rajko and Meralco #ikaw na

Intal, Maliksi, Jonas V. are all injury prone. Longer season and wear and tear. That is natural.

Look at the whole Tnt team the benificiary of toromans training isa pang injury prone team:cool: but come injuries theres success for them..

But it do help that their deep enough to go through the injuries..

are sure with this accusation? and certainly it's not a fact.

barroca was never sidelined in the pba despite the no. of minutes he received under toroman.

look at baracael and even the tnt guys who were included in the line-up of gilas 1.

BT has a point. That's practically half the team. Toroman's training is tough, but it will take its toll.

TNT guys in the line-up did NOT have that much time with Toroman anyway.

the military like training that toroman has been implementing can't be compared to those in the US where players are required to built they're body based on their current skill sets and physiques plus the overnight scrimmages just to perfect certain plays together with the analogy of the books.

isn't that harder than playing scrimmages, doing some drills and lecturing?

Sir Nardy , Can you enlighten me with toroman's training drills?

Somebody has to remind toro that a team has to spend more time winning than burning out. Tnt does it the correct way by putting more time to creating great athletes than great trainees.

looks like from the way some describe toro's training, that it was really meant for younger guys below 21 or 23 years old who needed to be physically molded into fighting men. unfortunately, such training cannot be sustained over the long-term for older guys as it will cause burnout or unnecessary injuries.

actually BT has a point, they all gotten injury-prone but that's after they already left the program. Wear and tear could be. But if you're a gym-buff you know a change in routine could sometimes have an adverse effect on you most so if you're doing it for such a long period of time.

As I said before, when TNT first experienced the Serbian Military Camp training of Coach Rajko, even if they're among the best conditioned teams in the PBA, its such a surprise that guys like Ali, Jared well actually all of them, run out of air and were already standing around or heads down while their hands are holding unto their waists. The drills are actually conditioning the players on certain movements which actually happens on the playing court and helps them react faster.

Fact is majority of our players from their younger days had not really given much on their conditioning and training regimen. At least the Fil-ams know more about as they come much earlier as they know the importance of doing warming-up exercises before each highly exhausting physical activity. Our homegrowns could even be seen laughing and making fun of the cooling-down exercises. Its just were not really used to this kind of things. Most would just come just about time or a bit late (Filipino time) then wants just to do shoot-arounds and some scrimmages. However thats no longer the thing right now. Some of the trainers even insert exercises which are yoga and ballet regimens.

Its just hard to justify change when we are not used to it. But we know its not only the Serbians who do it, even the Greeks, the Koreans, the Japanese, .... now the Iranians. Its not that its bad or good for us Filipinos, I like what Ronald Tubid said before he was shipped-out of Barako, "kaunting hinay-hinay lang".

I also feel the spate of injuries in the Barako camp is because "nabigla lang" but when everything becomes routine, you'll see the benefits not only during the game but as Jim Saret says it in your well-being.

.... ahh now I remember. they should have a break-in period first before going full-throttle.

on the grassroots ... BT is also correct that we should start such a training with the Youth and Cadet hopefulls. Lets start e while they are young.
