starters heights are about 5'10-6'0 while our keeper towers the team with 6'3 in height. Our coach is definitely tall even for the brits

Freedom,

if you put a flag on their jersey, would that improve their gameplay? would that say they are more patriotic then ever?

what happen to you all?

wow...what a childish thinking:eek:......don't worry i wont take your candy:):)

Thats the thing about football... heights doesn't matter for the outfield players... although, a tall goalkeeper is a must in a football team for obvious reason...

The defenders and goalkeepers should be tall, around 6'2'' to 6'5''. There are no height requirement for strikers and midfielders.

You don't need height as a defender... I played football in high school as a defender against taller guys and I don't have any problems.. the only players that need a height are the goalkeepers...

Ah ok. Most of the defenders in European Football Clubs and National Teams have a couple of tall defenders.

Yes you don't need it but it is definitely an advantage if you're a tall defender.. Much like in most sports, height is an advantage.. Expecially if it comes with skill..

OT: I play LB for the UST Faculty of Engineering Football Club.. The Thomasian Goodwill games just started and we routed the "taller" UST College of Education squad 10-0..:D

I used to play football in La Salle's Athletic League (we call LSAL for short), I played keeper and I might say having height in football has is own advantages too. My 5'3 and 5'5 defenders with "ting-ting" built are normally eaten alive by the 6 footers strikers, they can force their without or little opposition from my defenders.

hehehe I play LB and LM for my old team:D.. yeah height is an advantage but its not a requirement... I played against taller forwards/strikers in the past and when they faced short, skilled, and quicker players they lost and out of place... easy to tackle and steal the ball... of course, when it comes to air ball... thats another story... unless you also play basketball then fighting for the ball in the air shouldn't be a problem...

OT: Congrats!:D... same here in my university... for some reason, Engineers always win the inter-college football...

Uniforms of national sporting teams

Uniforms of national sporting teams

I believe that other sporting codes should follow the uniform format of the football national teams where by you only have the flag or the emblem of the federation, the number and the brand of the shirt.

The benefits are that the team will be totally recognised as the national team, the focus of the shirt is on the country that you're representing and not the company.

Besides football national teams another sporting team that demonstrates this is New Zealand's Rugby Team: The All Blacks.

At times, I wonder if it is Australian Rugby Team: The Wallabies or the Australian Qantas Rugby Team?

It's great to have a sponsor for capital generating purposes however, I always believe in the sporting philosophy that you're always playing for the shirt and the best way to demonstrate this is by having a shirt that focuses solely on the team's emblem whether it be at club or international level.

My favourite football club: Club Nacional de Football, also known as Nacioanl de Montevideo they have so many sponsors you end up not knowing the actual team whenever the club plays in the Primera Division Uruguaya but when they play in the Latin American inter-regional club competition: Copa Libertadores against the biggest clubs of Latin America such as Flamengo, Boca Juniors, Colo Colo, River Plate or Club America, the team wears the more traditional shirt where there's no sponsor in the front.

Yeah other than the flag is the team logo (not necessarily that of the national governing body) of the national team... we all know the Team Pilipinas logo for basketball (basically the coat of arms and the Philippine flag combine)... and I think that logo is compatible to pretty much every sports that will represent the country internationally..

its simple and easy...

cant imagine if a big PHL flag on the crowd hehe :D

i want to see that in future matches hehe.. lets see  :D

engineering kids always triumph big even in basketball, there was a time that La Salle's team b was beaten by an engineer major squad.
