I doubt anyone in this forum can answer your question ! but as far as I know they put his name in the primary list (which means they called him up) but he went to USA for vacation and didn't attend the camp , and in this case this player (if he has no acceptable excuse) is automatically out.

Stankovic Cup :

* Memphis didn't let Hamed to compete in Stankovic Cup ! :(
* Mohammad Hassanzadeh missed this tourney.
* Iran Channel 3 will broadcast Stankovic Cup ! what a surprise !
** Wednesday / 12:30 / Iran - Slovenia
** Thursday / 16:15 / Iran - China
** Friday / 12:30 / Iran - Australia

Do you have the recent list of Iran NT in Stankovic Cup ?

Will Memphis let Hamed play in Turkish Men's Basketball Championship in September ??
Why Asian Games in November is very important for the federation??

sure ! Hamed will join the team after the Stankovic Cup. (he supposed to join them before this tournament)

why Asian Games is very important ? for the same reason that Asian Championship, World Championship and Olympic Games are important ! these are official tournaments unlike Stakovic Cup ! so if his absence in Stankovic Cup can increase his chance for Asian Games, it is good !

But IF he play in asie game in Nov he absence in NBA for about 1 month .
I don't think China NT will let Yi and Yao go back to play in asie game.

1 month is ideal, but I think 2 weeks is enough ! but it is all depend on Memphis.

anyhow, the last player Hassanzadeh replaced by Saeid Davarpanah.

There's announced that during trip in Lithuania, Iran will play vs. Žalgiris(Kaunas) in Panevėžys' "Cido Arena" on 22nd of August. Still unknown if Žalgiris will be at full strengh, cause 4 players are in NT camps and some foreigners might be still missing

it is what I read in the news, but I can't see Davarpanah on the bench, he is not there. it is better for him to join the B team in Asian Stankovic Cup.

the team is not confirmed yet, but we can guess the first 10 players.

yeah i just watched the game and didn't saw him on the bench, i think he's gonna play with the team B in Asian Stankovic Cup. so who is in the guess of first 10 players?

Iran 74 - Slovenia 107

we played well just for 15 minutes. Slovenia had a 27-6 run in the last 5 minutes of the first half then we gave up !

Kamrani was our best player with no doubt ! Samad had a very bad day with only 7 pts (1 FG + 5 FT)

Nabipour is truly an idiot ! we already knew it and he is still with the team !

Matic used all 11 players in this match, Arsalan played his first match with the senior team and he was good.

1 - Hamed Haddadi

5 - Hamed Afagh
6 - Javad Davari
7 - Arsalan Kazemi
8 - Iman Zandi
9 - Aren Davoudi
10 - Asghar Kardoust

+ 2 of these players: Pouya Tajik or Hamed Sohrabnejad or Ali Doraghi

also players like Amir Amini and Saman Veisi have some slim chances

Of course, possible injuries can play a role in the final selection of the team

iran was good in first and third Q
arsalan kazemi was better than samad nikkhah bahrami in this game:cool:

Tom.com-- Iran faced against Slovenia in the opening game on Wednesday Aug. 28,the first day of Dongfeng Yueda Kia Stankovic Continental Cup 2010 for Men, in Liuzhou, Guangxi Province.

Iran took a lead in the opening minutes. However, Slovenia nailed 20 points at the end of first half with the help of the great touch of Primož Brezec and a flurry of attacks by Goran Dragic, Slovenia stunned Iran by 34 points, 107-74.

Mahdi Kamrani of Iran made 7 of 10 ,scored a team-highest, 23 points with 3 rebounds. Arsalan Kazemi Naeini scored most rebounds in the team and added another 8 points.

Sani Becirovic of Slovenia contributed the highest in his team, 23 points with 6 assists. Goran Dragic made 5 of 9(including two three-pointers) within 18 minutes, scored 15 points with 4 assists. Samo Udrih added 19 points, 3 assists and 4 steals. During 18-minutes performance, Primož Brezec contributed 13 points, 3 rebounds and 2 blocks.

Iran Weakened After A Head-start

Iran scored first in the paint and then hit a three-pointer from outside. The West Asia powerhouse took initiative by its efficient inside-outside cooperation, which caused Slovenia turned to full-court press, strengthened their rebound protection and speeded up there offence-defense switch.

The defensive-minded Slovenia made two steals and both of them led to fast breaks which changed the score to 10-14. Iran stick to there inside strength, Poustinsaraei made free throws in a row. Then Slovenia made a three-pointer after three offensive rebounds in the following attack and succeeded on the other end. Slovenia scored a 10-0 run and outscored 22-17. Iran hit a free throw by inside attack. Slovenia scored a perimeter shot later and outscored 24-18 at the end of first quarter.

Slovenia Made The Fatal Run

Iran made a three pointer from the field before Slovenia scored two points. Iran performed better after changing to one-on-one defense. However, Slovenia practiced more amazing inside attacks and fabulous passes. A three-pointer by Kamrani gave Iran a lead, 31-30.

Then Brezec stood out, he first made the dunk-finish twice, then gave out a talented pass. Strengthened by increasing morale stirred by their fantastic inside cooperation, Slovenia outscored.

Goran Dragic mounted an outside attack and his decisive three-pointer rose their advantages to 10 points. In the last minute of the first half, Slokar shoot a three-pointer from the field and drove a fast break after a steal. Udrih scored a three-pointer with the help of Becirovic's assist. Iran trailed 58-38 at the end of first half.

Kamrani's Effort Cannot Helped Iran

Slovenia opened the second half by a three-pointer from the field before Kamrani scored in a row. Iran kept up with great difficulty. Slokar slam the ball with the pass by Goran Dragic from outside, then he drew the foul and hit the free throw. Udrih's steal lead to fast break. Slovenia's advantage came to 28 points.

The huge gap had let Iran down. Though made several turnovers, Kamrani scored a three-pointer. But his personal performance couldn't change the situation. Iran trailed more than 20 points.

At the end of this quarter, Iran performed full-court press, which leads to pass turnover by Becirovic. Iran caught up a little bit, made the score 59-79 after a three-pointer by Kamrani.

After Brezec¡¯s free throw and Becirovic's three-pointer, Slovenia entered the last quarter with great confidence.

Bench Players Ended the Game

With almost no hope to win, Iran's bench players entered to the court in the forth quarter as Slovenia also made the substitution. Young players used this garbage time to practice.

At the end, Slovenia beat Iran, 107-74, becoming the first winner in Stankovic Continental Cup 2010.

darn, I missed the game.
With the team complete in Turkey, they wouldn't lose this bad not only because everyone is there, but also because for something like the World Championship games they play with a higher sense of urgency and alertness.

was Kazemi playing 3 as a substitute for Samad?

yes sometimes, he also played as a 4

honestly we didn't deserve this loss by 33pts ! but our players gave up in some minutes of the match and Slovenia is not like our darepiti asian opponents they are a great team and they played very seriously.

86-64 for China
they didn't have much going on for them in this game in both offense and defense.
I thought they played better when they didn't have a traditional center in the game (Kardoust & Nabipour).
the funniest part of the game was when Samad was limping after a layup and the commentator Mr. Abolhassani said that "Samad ehsas narahati mikone dar andam tahtani :))"

Let's hope all these games help them become a better team for the real event.
