I think Tony Atayde is referring to Importante who is an incoming rookie for the Adamson Falcons.

hey that Jaypee Importante is good when he played for the Baby Dolphins .....
But his real name is Vincent King. He was the first player discovered guilty of identity switching in the PCU Controversy. He switched his original age 19 to a 16 year old person (his younger cousin) to allow him to be eligible to play in the NCAA junior division.

Well from what I know this Importante together with Victor Oliveros, Jundell Navaja and James De Gano are banned for life in playing in the NCAA. IMHO, these players would have learned their lesson and actually they are also victims of manipulative people who deemed that winning is the only final result that's important and would do it at any cost. Adamson is just giving the kid a 2nd chance to suceed in life.

But I am curious is he now using his true name, Vincent King :p and if he was really 19 when he played as a Baby Dolphin then this school year he is 22 or 23.

Now things are getting more confusing about his real identity.

Based on the line-up submitted in Fil-Oil. He is listed as King Importante.:D

I know he is referring to Importante. What I meant in my post is that he took time to write about the eligibility issue confronting Importante but conveniently remained silent about the eligibility of the most celebrated and hyped recruit from SSC. :)

again, my question is, where is Kuya heading? is he staying or is he moving with his "little" brother to taft?

since we are in this discussion there has been rumours that some bomb went to taft. i wonder if that guy got a pep exam also.

Probably because the kid may be headed to Reedley to finish his high school.

from inboundpass:

what's confusing? As I said his real full name is Vincent King Importante. Just like Barroca, he is usually listed as Mark Barroca but his full name is Mark Andy Barroca.

why? What is the eligibility problem of that recruit from SSC? From what I heard, the said player has been attending his freshman classes in Taft since last month. What I know there was a tug-of-war for his services but there's nobody who came forward to question his eligibility.

Importante's eligibility case is different since they have to double check if King has repeated and passed what was initially credited to his fake personality Jaypee.

Kuya is back in Recto. Contrary to rumors that Kuya already transferred to UP or Taft, he was merely suspended for cursing his coach. Gives you an idea of the character of the players in that team. :D

We are not talking about Andrada, are we? :D

Seriously, THE recruit apparently is not yet a HS graduate (as of last month). Until now, DLSU has not come up with an official announcement that THE recruit has already finished HS. Last time I heard, the boosters of DLSU are still looking for ways to pave the way for THE recruit to play this year.

spoiled brats .... aren't we not supposed to answer back to our elders. He should be thankful that his coach is not Ato Tolentino or he would end up black and blue with bruises all over.

My bad. When I read your post, I misinterpreted King as his last name. As in Ex-PBA player Abe King.

but Baste is also silent if this high profile recruit indeed graduated or not. There are talks that they are holding unto his papers and if he stays, he is a High School graduate. Is this a case of a you are either with us otherwise nobody will.

College recruitment is not what it used to be.

By the way guys, have you read the controversy now hounding the NBA, there are reports that the Chicago Bulls Derrick Rose faked his SAT scores to get into college by using a stand-in to take the test for him.

good thing we are not throwing any almond nuts in the conversation. but then that kid is good so yeah.. i wonder where the truth will play?

there have been rumblings in other sites and some supposed ateneans claiming that this kid has not been attending classes ever since his 3rd year in high school. no way to confirm this unless somebody actually calls for a press conference, which by the way is doubtful. however, if this is true, there is no way in hell baste will come out and admit it, because that would be shooting themselves in the foot. that means they will have to return their 2 NCAA junior trophies. since this recruit supposedly skipped classes in his 3rd year, there's no way his eligible to play, much less on his 4th year.

these are still internet rumors until someone comes out and confirms. its still hard to believe everything you read online. but the fact that this recruit already attended classes in DLSU should say that he is pretty much eligible. after all the benitez-gatchalian fiasco, i highly doubt DLSU does it all over again. because that would just be plain stupidity on their part.. just my two cents.

Intrigues, intrigues .....

One school said something about Ryan Buenafe's supposed academic problems at ADMU, and so the school replies about Arvie Bringas' supposed academic problems graduating from High School.

All I can say, is that Arvie is really good. Just look at his first few games at Fil-Oil against college players, and he is already hitting double figures in scoring. I won't be surprised if Arvie ends up with better numbers on his rookie year than Buenafe.

true true. all that back and forth bickering is getting old and is somewhat annoying to read. that's why i prefer reading stuff on this site..

on arvie, havent really seen him play. not even once. but judging from DLSU's 6 straight losses in two summer tournaments, could it be a case that franz was making new plays to "integrate" big men into his guard friendly system? its been quite some time when a "dominant" big man and a legit post threat became part of the his offensive line. even rico maierhoffer had to score on put backs, on isolations that had him driving all the way, or simply an open three pointer. with arvie's case, im thinking DLSU was trying to feed the ball inside, driving and dishing.. pretty much the same case with rabeh and tiu last year..

Arvie is really good .... he has a very big potential. Coach Rajko Toroman was really impressed about this young boy's game in High School that Coach Rajko even called Arvie the future of Philippine Basketball. But unfortunately when he was asked to join the tryouts of Toroman, he was a no show as he was advised by first SSC and then DLSU not to attend.

i also keep hearing about paul lee? can you also inform me on how he plays and what position?
