When considering both the preparation games and official games, Korkmaz provides a somewhat decent scoring contribution, but falls far short of the expected in-game impact. He tends to get lost in extended sequences throughout the game. He is a significant defensive liability. He can not engage effectively through physical contact, thus failing to add any aggression to the game. In previous summers, he would at least strive to increase the tempo, but that effort seems absent also this summer. With his current form, he's likely to remain nothing more than a garbage time player in the NBA incoming season. His injury might have some influence, of course, but he hasn't found his shooting rhythm since the beginning of the summer. Especially in a tournament where Osman isn't present, he should take on more offensive responsibility, yet he defers also to Sengun. His conversion rate of created positions into points is also below expectations, plus the baskets he scores by creating his own shot can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Hopefully, he can make a difference as expected in the game against Croatia; otherwise, claiming that the contribution we get from Korkmaz against weak teams we play against could have been obtained from even Mahmutoglu at the same level wouldn't be an unfounded statement. In short, the upcoming season won't be easy for him. He needs a significant recovery. He's currently overshadowed by the stardom Sengun is achieving.
