Last year silver medal fooled all of us: at the end of the day France is still France... a team unable to win in the tough games...

I thought that wouldn't see a worse match than Lithuania - Russia today but this one has been a nightmare.

It's been funny to see Batum saying to the referee that Navarro flopped. I understand it's hard to lose always against the same team but there's no need to be violent.

I would say they are just a team of athletes + Tony Parker...
Spain was for the taking today and they blew it by building a skyscraper with all the bricks. Lack of shooting skill is still their achilles heal

Sorry loss for France, I even thought the momentum was at their side after the 3rd quarter!

Well, Spain's not performing that well as they used to. It's probably a bronze medal match for them, where they might win a rematch either against Brazil in this tournament or Argentina in the 2010 one. I think Russia will go all the way to the final.

I asked Nicolas Batum why he hit Juan-Carlos Navarro in the groin. "I wanted to give him a good reason to flop", Batum said.

what a nasty game - and a shameful behaviour from both teams, according to BBC commentary.
None of the teams will get my support .France less so,because Rudy should be ejected from the games for faking injuries and provoking opponents

Spain could barely score either. Does anyone believe they tanked that Brazil game now?

batum thinks:
Told Batum some won't think groin shot is in Olympic spirit. Batum: "Do you think if you lost a game on purpose, that's the Olympic spirit?"

Of course they tanked. What does it prove? First - France is stronger team than brazil, secondly - you can play good one day and bad another, that does not prove anything at all. Plus playoffs is different type of game than group.

Did'nt see the first half. Second was brutal, defense was there but offense ...
Too bad, Spain was beatable. Considering the chaotic preparation, the global result is not that bad.
Not sure what the future will be for this team, Parker said he plans to continue till Rio games, so probably Diaw also.
We'll see if Batum improves and lives up to his fat NBA contract. Not sure about Noah coming back though.

1)It proves Spain was weak against 4 opponents in 5 games. They barely beat Great Britain by +3. Then they lose to both Russia and Brazil They barely beat France that they killed in Eurobasket. Its obvious Spain is weaker this year. Too many injuries to the guards. France has not had a powerful 4th quarter in any of the close games.

2)exactly any team can be good one game and bad another. Spain has been bad for 4 games. They either barely win or barely lose. I'm not going to overrate them.

Forget the gif I was trying to post :p
You are missing the point -this was retaliation ,no matter how bad it looked. And it was bad.
Spain moaned and contested every whistle against them, played dead or worse, faked injuries.
Horrible sportsmanship, and if you remember them loosing to Brasil on purpose,then..
i do not blame them

I agree bro

Batum showes he is a violent man not a pretty-faced baby :) It's a pity though that he didn't slap Calderon in the face - the whole Spanish team deserved some tough punches for what they've done in the game with Brazil. So it's now an our task to teach these bastards a lesson that you better try to win the games not to tank them in order to get an 'easier' way to finals. I hope we'll be successful. Today's Spain was beatable for Les Bleus but with the absurdly brainless glamour star Tony Longoria with his non-existant defense (and even some 'fishing' tactics characteristic for bigs in 50s-60s) and ridiculous shot selection as your main PG you can win a really worthwhile opponent no more than in 1 out of 10 games.
