News for the 2006/2007 season

According to eurobasket Paok is in talk with malik dixon. did they get agreement?

they wait to find out if moula will go to paok or not and then see what will do with dixon!

are there any AEK fans here? I've just read on Eurobasket that AEK signed Brent Scott, who did play for Anwil last year, to be their starting center. Not a very good move IMHO, he still knows how to play, but he is old, not only on his calendar, but on court too... But at least he has great character and will be a good locker room leader.

aek is a team with no money!so you get what you pay!we will wait and see though if they pay!

AEK (like some other greek teams) get what they "don't pay". Which is players who want playing time in the Uleb Cup. ;)

In eurobasket, Dixon is seen in Panellinios current roster list. Did Panellinios make contract with Dixon?

And 35-years old Brent Scott for sure will put exposure in ULEB over collecting a good paycheck, right :). But he is gone now, so doesn't realy matter...

PAOK fired Andy Panko...

what a stupid move. He's the least person they should make responsible for their bad start into the season. Will they ever learn to build a team in time and have patience with everybody without changing half the team + coach after a few games? The team that will sign Panko now can be happy, imo he's a really good player.

Now PAOK signed Darius Washington for ~ 11k/month. There are also rumors that Ivan Tomas will be replaced as well and that Jerome Allen is in danger of losing his spot on the team if he continues to play like he does atm in the next few games.

Jared Homan (last season in Maroussi) is back in Greece. Don't know the name of the team he signed for, but it's a ULEB CUP team, so AEK or PAOK. Any predictions?

Well, I heard that PAOK is searching for a big man. Signing Homan would mean however that Allen is gone, as they just signed Washington. I actually expected them to give 1-2 more games to Allen.
AEK'd be in need of a big man as well and they have 1 open US spot, dunno if they can pay Homan though. So both clubs are a possibility.

I don't think that AEk can afford him (unless they will give him a virtual offer).
And I don't think Jerome Allen will get more time, since Homan is ready to go to Europe immediately...

It'd make sense if PAOK would sign him, as they've been active on the market, searching for a big man. Initially they searched for a bosman player from what I've heard though, to replace Tomas. But it seems that they changed mind now and that they are going for the US solution rightaway.

Although it's too early to say something like this but the signing of Mulaomerovic by Olympiacos(which was done in an anti-sportive way) seems 2 b working badly 4 everyone.Mula hasn't adjusted 2 Gershon's playing style(and maybe he is too slow to ever do it), Jerome Allen isn't playing as expected, so both teams have a problem(small 4 Oly bigger 4 PAOK).Besides that when Olympiacos travel 2 Salonica 2 face PAOK the atmosphere will b hot due 2 the mula incident:(

Well, Homan won't be heading to PAOK...

PAOK signed Jason Parker (G/1.88m), who began the season for Carife Ferrara in Italy (Lega 2) and who played for the russian side Surgut last season. Jerome Allen is said to leave the team after Saturdays match vs. Maroussi.

I don't think Parker and Washingron are a very good choice, I like both of them, but for me they don't necessary fit with each other.
Regarding Homan - the information I posted earlier is looking false these days, since his talks broke down and he is again on the market...

I don't really get this move either. Homan might've been a good solution under the rim and I'd have signed him and one PG instead of signing two more guards but PAOK also lacks a SF. Now their backcourt is crowded with Guards (Parker, Washington, Scepanovic, Tomas, Kalabokis, Verginis), while they don't have a single SF. The logical next step would be to replace Tomas with a bosman SF, a good defender and rebounder, who can also help under the rim. But is it possible to find such a player atm? I still think that it was a big mistake to release Panko.
