San Beda RL teams finds it hard to win against well coached college teams. They have talent but they are outcoached almost every game.

sbu red lions team b have shown brillances but are not able to sustain it. rc calimag, sajonia, richi calimag, ronrei tolentino so far have been impressive in offense.

then they have role players songcuya, etulle who can do the dirty work.

but the most disappointing player has been big man bismark lina. defensively he is not a rim protector/shot blocking threat (like jopia), can’t knockdown a mid-range jumper or a 3-point shot (like cuntapay) and looks to be a throwback center from the 1990s

Solid csb win against feu. Basically neutralizing Faty and Oczon and Gozum making big shots. Curious to see them deploy an Oczon(6'0)-Jarque(6'4)-Gozum(6'5)-Sango(6'4)-Turco(6'6) starting 5 in back to back games. Hope corteza is ok tho after spraining his ankle.

Csb loading up with 6 new recruits from visayas. 3 are transferees and will serve residecy. Irele Galas, John Lester Amagan(same built shawn umali), John Loyd Martinez, Renel Jopillo, Kent John Parrenas and Moisis dela Cruz.

Looks like 2005 all over again. Nash was replaced by Koy and the rest was history.

IMO Yuri and Andre lacks "diskarte" to win it all. I'm 99% sure this would be their last year should they fail to win.

I'm excited for s99 and s100 with all the recruits and the 6'2 fil am guard. However, I would have been nice if we got a veteran coach. Now I see the logic of retaining CBF.

The project big man of the Red Cubs, Brix Versoza has moved pala to UST HS last week.

6’1” Fil-Am guard prospect for the Red Cubs last year is said to be moving to UST for college. He decided to move back to the US after entire Red Cubs coaching staff was replaced.

Justin Sanchez all of a sudden looking like a legit PBA prospect

Has the talent, even Tab noticed it that he recruited him but decided to stay with SBU. Needs to be consistent. He can be a Mallari type of player in the pros

I'm hearing norman black will go to san beda.

Playing with and against pros and semi-pros do help. Even ynot has improved. Hope liwag does as well.

Fyi, Ynot was SBU’s 3rd leading scorer in Season 98 after Kwekuteye and Bahio.

In the 2019 Red Cubs batch that moved to the Red Lions, the more prominent Amsali and Sanchez played poorly in the first two seasons. While the under-the-radar Yukien Andrada and Tony Ynot were the ones providing better numbers.

Ot but didn't Yukien come with some hype considering he was a Gilas youth mainstay?

Ynot and Sanchez are good players ...but they get lost when its crunch time. They fizzle out once the game becomes pressure laden. Of course Im basing it on their previous stint with the Red Lions. They could have improved their game since then.

Yukien plays within the system. Not the strongest and gifted among the four but knows how to maximize his skills. Has high bb iq similar to baby shaq taganas.

SAnchez is more of the bara bara type of player most of the time "di nagiisip". His decision making skills during crunch time is questionable. Same with Amsali.

Ynot on the other hand, is your typical energizer. A potent 6th man. He can score 25pts but wont really affect the game. You can liken him to a mike mustre during the Ron jacob years.

Close call for csb. Thought corteza got seriously injured but good that he was eventually able to get back into the game.

those oczon misses at the end sank them. Most of em were good looks just couldnt make it. Still like what am im seeing from this team especially with only a month or so to go before the season starts.

The stars for both teams had subpar games. Obasa changed a lot of shots. I don't think there's a rim protector as imposing as Obasa in the NCAA which should bode well for CSB's bigs. I think Mara's going to be good for CSB this upcoming season.
