Then he is better off being a skills coach.
RL Multi titled coaches from the past cultivated the teams winning culture from all pre season tournaments by winning tourneys.if CYE wont change his system then he has no business in coaching.

Mara with another hit this time to an adamson player. Dude really needs to cool it, he cost csb who were making a run that time. You can see the disappointment from everyone even from his teammates. All those skills pero hot head naman sayang.

On a side note, nash racela charged csb's bench to 'reprimand" mara, had to be held back by chris tan else he might have done the same. No minutes yet for oczon, not sure if lastimosa has been subbed in as well.

a big chunk of yuri escueta’s recruits are still in team b. the current players were recruited during boyet’s tenure with the exception of jalbuena and nygel. those in team b are the type of players he wants for his system.

I disagree. Andre has been implementing Yuri's system in Filbasket and the result is a disaster.

Yes, but the players from team behold are rookie veterans and some of them were already exposed to semi pro leagues.

Some? Take a little closer at Team B and I think its only Ronrei Tolentino from CEU who has been exposed to semi-pro leagues like PBA DLeague, PSL or MPBL.

The rest of the main core of SBU Team B came from the UAAP, who had no exposure in semi-pro leagues; RC Calimag and Bismark Lina (UP), Menard Soncuya and Bryan Sajonia (FEU), Richi Calimag (UST). Zedjay Etulle just spent one semester at CEU.

Again I would not dwell on their bad performance at the recent Fil-Basket because of chemistry. Soncuya and Tolentino were new and latest additions to the school. Then you have the high school recruits.

Its just hard to mesh this group. You need time. They went up against Letran and FEU Team As who have been playing together for a long time since early this year.

Not only did they not have semipro exposure, they also didnt have a lot of uaap exposure. Main guns like Lina and the Calimag bros rotted on the bench.

I just feel its too early for Yuri, or any other coach for that matter, to only have a year to change things.

I compared this current team behold to that of Pong and co in terms of potential and talent. They only difference the latter performed early on and showed their dominating talent in the pre season. IRR the 2005-06 behold never lost more than 10 pts in any of their preseason.

Zedjay came from APC, a well known program in Panay Island. Their players are well exposed to a lot of leagues.

you did not factor in the behold team of 2005 had a 6-8 defensive demon sam ekwe and 6-6 “could-have-been” michael burtscher. this 2023 team behold doesn’t have those talented bigs.

but one thing is for sure the current behold has two pong escobals (imo), rc and sajonia.

btw, sajonia and ronrei tolentino are starters and double digit scorers for their previous schools. they are the studs of this class.

Ekwe ok..Burstcher?? Pare the guy can't even make the DLSU team A.

On a positive note, looks like RC and Bryan can co exist. I am hopeful Bismark can be another Jopia in terms of improvement. Bismark should learn to lessen his gigil.

A low key but high reward recruit is Soncuya. Reminds me of a young Maggay with a potential to be a taller Freddie Abuda.

Who would have thought that someone so young as CYE would be so stubborn.

Red Lions was progressing up to April then everything seems to be on a standstill therefrom.

sbu is scheduled to leave for the united states next week. unless they changed again their schedule. they seemed to be in vacation and relaxed mode in davao.

how about for csb, do they have a foreign training camp?

Dont think they have. Will prolly stay home to prepare for season 99.

Anyway ateneo just too tall and solid night for their shooters against csb tonight.

inigo torres played decent for sbu yesteeday. looks like the 6-5 freshman will be a shoo-in for season 99.

SBU plans to train with famous nba trainer Jordan Lawley. Specializes in shooting, Klay is one of his clients.
