Future Big Men Of Philippine Basketball

Aside from quickness, has a decent stroke, size (6' 8 1/2) including body frame , work ethic . I still think he's raw , but has potential . What i like is he has no identify crisis, he knows he's a big man and is willing to mix it up down low yet is mobile enough to step out

Speaking of body frame I noticed he's gained 12 pounds judging from the stats listed near the end of that youtube video compared to his Young Harris roster profile http://yhcathletics.com/roster.aspx?path=mbball A good thing since I've noticed most Filipino bigs don't have much weight to throw around. Shows his work ethic and dedication to the weight room. His stats on the Young Harris website do indicate he's quite raw; let's hope he gets more than 6 minutes of playing time per game this upcoming season. I'm optimistic.

The bar really isn't high (i mean we're comparing him to guys like Slaughters) , a 6' 9" relative wide (250 lbs as listed ) and decently mobile (isn't a stiff) can potentially be servicable. the biggest thing is he's still turning 20 yrs old. that's a lot of upside to me for a country lacking in quality bigs.

Actually for some of our borderline "ineligibles" I'm sure attorney Erce can fight their case and win! FIBA will listen to sound logic and arguments. Clarkson for one should be winnable ( the guy posted online his passport before 16 :) , how can't you win with that :)

Wow that could be surreal. If ever Atty. Josef Erece cant represent Gilas in basketball ,if he can represent SBP in the court of law, that contribution will have a more far reaching effect for Philippine basketball, more than his contribution as Josef Erece, the basketball player.

Sir, Analyzed, what is the real deal with FIBA's refusal to allow Clarkson to play for us? The public has been given conflicting stories by the papers and SBP. Isn't the passport the definitive proof? Or is there politics involved? Clarkson with Blatche would elevate our game tremendously.

More than anything the main reason Clarkson wasn't pursued for the OQT is the stumbling block of getting him to play for Gilas without affecting his relationship with his employer ( the Lakers) & dad. Obviously if one (MVP) were going to go down the path of pursuing Clarkson for the OQT (which isn't cheap) he would like to be aware and assess all the factors required to get him to play. As such FIBA's boss' opinion (not verdict) was also asked (and friendly advise was not to pursue it for the OQT, there was no formal decision made on the case) , but really the biggest obstacle was the absence of the Lakers and his dad's blessings . (so wala talaga) , not surprising though , I don't know if there is a current NBA player under his original rookie deal (e.g Adams) or 2016 Draftee that participated in any of the OQTs .

BTW is Clarkson playing in the summer league? if he is , that further verifies why it would not sit well with LA if he opted to play for Gilas rather than start preparing for the season with his team

Clarkson is not in the summer team roster.

Clarkson was an RFA after the season. He just re-upped with the Lakers. No player in their right mind would risk playing an outside the NBA tournament when said player is facing free agency at the end of the season. What if the player gets hurt, who reimburses him for his lost value? MVP is on record as saying that the required insurance premium for NBA players to play in the OQT and Olympics was in the six digits per player. Base on the figure given to MVP, winning team France spent a couple of million just to insure their NBA players.

he can play next year if SBP wants to, make sure it won't smack the 2017 fiba asia cup.

finally, so I guess we Filipinos can still remain hopeful that we will see Clarkson and Blatche play together with Kobe Paras.

Damn!! Japhet Aguilar has new GF she is very athletic and her name Cassy Naidas and she stand 5'9. She play basketball too and she joined Binibining Pilipinas 2013. This girl is very strong even she kinda skinny. Please check her IG so you know what I mean.

I haven't seen that teen passport of Jordan. The only one that surfaced online was his adult passport. Do you have a link to that?

Nice to see that Panalangan is being trained as a modern, as opposed to a traditional, big man:

To develop Pangalangan's skills, the youngster from Angeles City undergoes spartan training under the supervision of former San Sebastian Stags coach Allan Trinidad, who pays particular attention to the kid's footwork and dribbling skills to set him apart from other tall homegrown cagers.

“Tine-train namin siya dito ng todo. Maaga pa lang isasalang na namin sa iba’t ibang training 'yan. Pero mas pinagtutuunan namin ng pansin, ma-develop ang footwork niya saka dribble,” said Trinidad.

“Kasi ala ring kwenta yang laki nyan kung mag-aabang lang ng bola. Kung lalampa-lampa,” he added. “Dribbling talaga ang emphasis namin, kasi kung di marunong ng dribble ang player kahit 6-7 o 6-8 yan, wala ring mangyayari. Hindi rin makaka-atake.”

OT Kim Jong Kyu is outplaying Vernin Macklin, I think when it comes to doing the inside presence role, Macklin might not be a good alternative for our nt program..
