i met Galen in a mall in Tacloban. i think he was visiting the place. i asked him if he had gigantism issues and he confirmed it. I am not sure if he really understood the question coz the boy is still young. Anyway Galen is a fine boy, always saying po and very accommodating. i was wondering why he will have gigantism when he did tracks training with Elma Muros. i think he has been playing hoops for only 3 years or so.

I felt bad for him when I read that he was released by his school.

I thought Galen is with Adamson again?

Pba should invest for the training by creating a pool for big men, hire a minimum of us NCAA division 1 caliber big man trainor that will develop our 6'8" and up how to play positions 3,4&5, so we will not just relie to junmar, Greg & Japheth, aside of that it will not affect that much the pba scheduling in the future if our pool of talent specially for big is depth, at any angle, at the end, pba pa rin naman ang magga gain, lalo Na kung successful ang campaign ng national team natin, look at pba, it is almost dying few years ago, nag resurgence because of success ng gilas 3.0, once ang campaign ng national at successful sa kahit ano mang sport ang interest ng mga pinoy ay nabubuhay din, it was proven, look at Efren bags reyes when he won the world cup of pool, kaliwat kanan ang billard hall at player, nang sumikat c sen. Pacquiao, kaliwat kanan din ang nagtayo ng boxing gym at nag boxing, kaya dapat lang na tumaya ang pba sa development ng basketball specially sa training ng bigs for their own promotion

The oligarchs HATE competition. Kaya ayaw nilang umunlad ang basketbol sa Pinas. Dadami ang kakumpetensya ng PBA.

But who knows. When we get to the Worlds and the Olympics (directly or via OQT) on a regular basis, PBA might just be able to switch to a home-and-away format like in the NBA.

sometimes i don't understand why we are trying so hard to have mighty height when that is something out of our control..

what our coaches should do is to give emphasis on shooting.. if our current Gilas now are all decent 3 point shooter, then we might even give US hell..

Finally, someone mentioned this. We all know that we lack bigs who can bang bodies inside and yet we keep on saying that we need this big guys to train like SF/SG or whatever. Well be like! wow! we have 6'7/6'8 SF and then, oh a 6'6" center and 6'5" PF because of this. I'd rather see them practice their shooting then get them hella strong so they can battle inside. I say be like Tristan Thompson for Gilas sake!

If only we have a Draymond Green type of PF here, a Tristan Thompson-like Center, a strecth 4/5 Nowitzki type, I think even though they are only 6'6" and 6'9" we will have a fighting chance against the Chinese/Iranian bigs without a naturalized player.

Jay Pangalangan and Justin Baltazar will play for DLSU in UAAP season 80 (2017)

So goodbye Gilas cadets for those two big men?

Much better to encourage them to participate in gilas cadet and expose them how to play as skilled or athletic forward, we saw the game of gilas against france, we need more Troy del Rosario, much better if taller

During the Turkey vs Canada game, there were a group of turks watching the game. One of them has a tall kid and he was with a filipina. Maybe he can be our future Cedi Osman :)

After the OQT, it is pretty obvious that we need at least two more 6'10 or 7'0 ft players. I hope that even at this early stage, let us include our young big men like Kai Sotto, Paras, Kirkness, Edu and the two Pampanga giants into our national team program so they can be trained and be exposed to international competition at this stage.
