im a bit confused. do you mean they just go out and vote or run for certain positions? if they run, they have to renounce their other citizenship.-< https://sc.judiciary.gov.ph/sc-naturalization-does-not-apply-to-dual-citizens-by-birth/

Thanks, that article explains it. I know of duals who ran/won elections, but I didn't know the dual citizen at birth clause.

That rules out Brownlee unless he renounces, I'm not sure what situation QMB has (if one of his parents was a dual at the time of his birth, he's a dual at birth thus able to run for office).

as far as I know as far as the existing law are concern

naturalized citizen like JB, AK34, Andray Blatche, Marcus Douthit among others are not entitled to run to any national and local position.

as per C2Hamm otherwise they need to renounce their other citizenship.

I think the late father of Sen. Richard Gordon then mayor of Olongapo during those days decided to renounce his American citizenship

to run for that local post.

anyway, as a practical thing, if those hafus had plans to run for public office after their basketball careers then they really need to close the other side

but for now if they truly wants to don the flag in a FIBA sanctioned event they really need to establish a strong domestic connection and exercising the

right of suffrage is a very very strong merit moving forward.

and were talking about lads who obtained their PH Passport after their 16th birthday.

I think JC and allegedly PH pass holders like Jalen Green, Remy Martin, Kamaka Hepa, Ron Harper Jr. had a chance to practice that right of suffrage

thru that Absentee Voting Act.

that is why the next big question is "Are they interested enough to vote in the local scene and being a dual citizen they will not compromise any sides

as far as technicality are concern.

one thing I know " Kung isa lang napupusuan mong iboto walang kaso basta wag lang sumobra sa balota". trans. Filipino voting public are not obligated to maximize the vote

I would replace Perez for Heading, but whom will Bolick replace though? There is no way CTC will replace his main man Scottie, also Newsome is our best defender. Replacing Oftana would make our lineup smaller. The only possible thing would be replacing Oftana with another wing like Navarro or Tolentino.

I do not see why Perez need to be taken out. He seems okay , he provides some energy on the team plus his athleticsm and speed is needed whenever there is a change of pace in the game. He is our hustle guy and the one who can match up with the speeds of the athlethic opponents. As per your observation with Oftana I think Tolentino or Navarro would be a good replacement. But I do not know maybe Coach sees something in him that we do not see.
