he must learn while he is young

Did not argue against that. I did not argue against your statement that he needs to learn how to get rebounds even. But from that video, surely you can't say that he is not learning or trying to learn, can you? What I'm arguing against is your statement that his dunk is not yet that impressive, a little low for his height etc. etc. A person, especially a kid, trying to learn something has to start from scratch. That's the natural order of things. Unless, of course, we are assuming he is a "genius."

the kid is a bit frail but that is ok with his age. He should gain some more weight as time goes by and of course learning wise, he has still a lot of learning to do along the way. Some guys even learn basketball later on their life, this kid has been playing somewhat competitive basketball since he was 13 years old. I hope Edu gets a chance in playing US NCAA div.1 hoops so he could play against taller more physical players. It will serve as a great training ground on whatever comes next on his career.

Agreed. Same hope for Edu. If only our U16 was able to qualify for the Worlds, and Edu was able to play, I think that would have been his best opportunity to get noticed by US NCAA Div. 1 schools just like how Rui Hachimura of Japan was able to get the attention of Gonzaga. But unfortunately, fate did not allow our U16 to get to the Worlds. But still, with Edu's talent, I'm confident some US NCAA Div. 1 schools will notice him eventually. I really have high hopes for this kid.

Galen, Arman de Guzman, Sam emman, Mac andaya, some of the names of pinoy bigs Na nasayang, pba should invest sa training ng mga pinoy big men by creating a training pool ng 6'8" para as then hire a certified big men trainor, tutal at the end pba din naman ang makikinabang

Mike Nieto played big man in High School and with Batang Gilas, he now plays the wing for Ateneo

poor nutrition?if he stays at 6'1" what will be his future? nevermind if he is a future Abueva but we need is a bigger Abueva rather than smaller

twin brother plays point, well see if big mike improved and pba ready in his 4th year

if we say 6'1" is a big guy.....that's a goodbye GILAS future!

hahahhaaha

we never learn! and that's one hell of a problem with our sports program

George Galen Casida is back to Adamson Basketball Program. According to his FB account he is already 7'0.

article said he cannot keep up with his position in college, that is why he is trying to switch to a guard. 6'1 with nieto's heft and strength(in highschool) can definitely do well down low.

I don't know how you understood that article. It actually sounds like he learned/understood that he cannot be a big man at 6'1.

It will be a pretty hard transition for him, from a center to a guard. Has someone watched him lately? Is he playing well?

Nope , Plays the 4 spot with Ike when ateneo plays small ball. Too slow to defend fast guards but has a midrange J.

He trimmed to 180 pounds so lets see this S79

said to be Fil-Am, can anyone verify?
