Sir Sikatrix,

I think there's none

lately, while watching a few Meralco games of the on-going tourney

I've noticed that there's no CNV in the coaching staff row

i dunno if it is already confirm but according to some

he will be the one who be will coach the tall black this Nov. window

I stand to be corrected on this

thank you

He was. coaching Meralco last Sunday.

And from this Kiwi article it was Tab who is rumored as one of the choices and no mention of Nenad as one of the candidates.

They are doing what the Bay Area Dragons did with Barefield

the PBA should really revise their Jurassic-old policy on player's eligibility rules

to accomodate Philippine developed and educated Angelo Kouame

imagine a 6'11 AK34, 6'10 QMB, 6'11 CJ Lane, 6'8 Mike Philips and possibly 6'9 Kamaka Hepa

entering next year's draft that would be history as the tallest batch of Rookie applicants

as for 7'0 Sage Tolentino well U.P and DLSU are starting to send(?) feelers to lure the Hawaiian born kid

as a possible replacement when QMB and KQ decided to turn pro next year

the league needs to level up if they really serious about "innovations".

makes me wonder, so Ange technically has a PH passport now... does that mean he can be an Asian quota in the B League?

I also feel like were in danger of losing QMB, CJ Lane, Hepa and eventually Sage to B League.

Sir Joe,

we all know AK34 parents are both full blooded Africans

hence he ain't considered as full-blooded Asian or Hafu

I stand to be corrected on this but as far as I know when they say Asian quota

it means you are full blooded or mixed

I dunno know the other details of that "Asian Quota" provisions

but for me personally, they should revise a little bit that eligibility

to accomodate players who had no Asian blood but was naturalized during their younger years

esp. to those who literally lives, schooled and developed from their respective adopted country(s)

I think 23 yrs. of age is an ideal window for that

considering FIBA also had that 23 yr. old window to those hafu kids who decided or planning to

shift allegiance but already played in a sanctioned tourney in the youth level

in the same breath as 17 yr. old JJ Mandaquit, 19 yr. old Dylan Harper and 24 yr, old Kamaka Hepa

now back to AK34, I think he obtained his PH passport when he is barely 23 yrs. old

as for QMB, CJ Lane and Kamaka I don't think Plipinas basketball are in danger of losing them due to technicality

considering they've already obtained there respective PH docs

as for 20 yr. old Sage Tolentino, I dunno if his camp esp. the family had already coordinated to those US based

sports organization to assist them facilitating the PH docs of the kid

in the same situation as Philippine born Maria Pizzaro and two sons

indeed legworks and paperworks is an onion be it you are a citizen of a First World country(s) or not

everyone must follow the process and avoid too much complaining, rumbling or whining

we are not living in a perfect world so we really need to "Trust the Process".

None of them are eligible for either league as of now.

B.League = Fiba eligible
KBL = pure race, or both parents have citizenship

pinoy overseas-based talents going to the b-league is a good thing for gilas. it means they got themselves to become fiba-eligible. will also encourage teenage fil-foreigner prospects to get their passports so they can play in the b-league as an asian import

Nope. To be an Asian quota player you need to be eligible to play for a FIBA-Asia country (other than AUS and NZ) as a local. QMB, Lane, Hepa, and Tolentino are all not eligible. And neither is Ange.

Not gonna lie (assuming the PBA teams take this tournament seriously), I’m much more excited for this than the actual PBA season.

MERALCO did take this tournament seriously last year. Just got unlucky at the start, and sustained close losses at full strength.

Did Nenad ever work with Ange?

I think so, in the buildup to the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup which was held in 2022. Ange injured his ACL, though, which is why he couldn't participate in the tune-up games against SoKor, the June-July 2022 window, and the Asia Cup.

SMB's defense is a bit concerning. Opponents are averaging 110.22 PPG against them. Opponents' FG% is probably high. It's just firepower with them, e.

If SMB don't shore up their defense, they better prepare for shootouts, or it's going to be a long EASL for them.

OK, looks like SMB are having difficulty on defense, again. Back-to-back games where they allowed Converge to score 100+ points.

If SMB don't shore up their defense, it's gonna be a long EASL season for them. Unless, of course, they match the firepower of their opponents.

EASL will be the 1st tournament that pinoy club/NT will join since having a 4 pt line in pba

KT Sonicboom vs San Miguel Beermen, the first game of the EASL tournament tomorrow.

Since the skills of KT's imported players are superior to San Miguel's, KT's team is expected to win if the three referee remain neutral.
