I think Ginebra can, too. Complete lineup when healthy and with JB in tow, but they need an additional center who can protect the paint. TNT sana, but they screwed up with Mikey (who had been a massive part of their team), and I dunno how they can adjust. If they can get a go-to guy, they have a chance too.

As for SMB, wala, they really need an adjustment in roster construction and tactics.

Meralco beat Ryukyu once last EASL season and almost beat Seoul SK Knights... That makes them have a legit chance next EASL season... And i hope they will be the once who will represent PBA for BCL... Imagine Shabab Al Ahli made it to the finals despite not so good locals, Although they have 3 very good imports but that was not enough.. If Meralco was there last BCL, I think they can make it to the finals since Liaoning didn't treat that tournament seriously while KCC and Hiroshima were not complete because of unavailability of their key players...

Robert hiroshima lost isiaah murphy in bcl due to hagop rule what makes you sure fib awill allow hidge and brandon bates as a local...maybe thats the reason why pba isnt warm on joining the tournament..

Possible that Banchero and Hodge will granted FIBA exemption... Because both already played more than 10 years in the league, Both have a case to give them exemption status by FIBA... Bates might be the ones who will not make the cut... unless they will use Bates as one of their world imports... Definitely you right about eligibility here in BCL.. That's why it is not enticing for PBA to join here.. The only good thing for BCL is the winner of BCL will play for FIBA Intercontinental cup, w/c is now hold by Al Riyadi.. Experience playing against top ball clubs in the world is a good exposure for any team who will qualified..

Durham was released by Ryukyu so he'll probably be joining the Bolts this year. They just need another reliable world import.

he's 35 and slowing down, shot under 50% for the first time in his career last season (43%). maybe he's still got a lot left in the tank if he moves into a new albeit familiar environment

I think it's time for FIBA to bring down the hammer to Taiwan. P.League and the newly-formed TPBL can't find a common ground. Then, there you have the SBL - another professional in the island.

FIBA should slap Taiwan with a suspension like what happened to Japan.

Smb will be in a lot of trouble if they won’t modify their roster

They have a hole in terms of interior defense. June Mar needs a good defensive partner to protect him. SMB need a big four.

Firepower won't be much of an issue, though. And CJ defended well in FIBA, he should carry that over. He, Marcio, Ross, and Trollano will be SMB's primary defenders in the EASL.

Selecting the right imports could remedy this situation. But they really need to dump teng and vic manuel, those 2 would just be liabilities. Hope that Navarro is with SMB by the time the easl starts

In the EASL, it's best that Navarro plays the 3. SMB will need an actual 4.

On another note, they have a deep roster, so if key players are tired, they can drop. Honestly, squad rotation should be a thing in PBA teams in the EASL, so that key players are fresh in playoff rounds.

I have a feeling Meralco will enter final 4 in EASL.. I don't know with SMB...

wait since benny is out will SMB retain the lithuanian guy as he is a spot up shooter, might even go three import to really not affect the whole team dynamics..

EASL will be used to really put mileage on some players like jeron teng and Kyt Jimenez

Too bad the defending champs CHiba Jets isnt officially joining this season..

PBA should adapt the easl teams luxury where they can replace imports anytime they want up until pba finals.. although guys like Yeng Guiao will have a say on this.
