Were the teams Trinchieri was coaching not the ones with the highest payrolls in their domestic leagues? And what was the payroll of Žalgiris vs. that of Rytas last year?
i'd rather see zalgiris do well in euroleague that win meaningles trophies in lkl
so it seems like jokubaitis is going to maccabi not zalgiris, this guy is just not very good at making decisions. zalgiris would've been a perfect place for him to develop but i guess he thinks he's too good for them after this amazing 4ppg season. at least it opens up more minutes for sirvydis who will end up being the better player.

First of all, Sirvydis has to play at all. Because some EL players may not recognize his defense.
Strange decision. But at least Iggy coming back. No idea what Jokubaitis role will be, maybe coach promised something nice, maybe simply money was way better.
LTU NT will snatch Eurobasket 2029 title with this roster:
Zalgiris roster is most stacked in years, specially at the swingman position. Looking forward to see how this will work. Regarding Lithuanians I'm afraid that Sirvydis and D. Giedraitis might suffer because of this rotation. Francisco, Wallace and Mitchel might take the most minutes. Brazdeikis should get his consistent 20 minutes or maybe even more, depending who will become No.1 scoring option. Francisco will have to play a lot with the ball and will shoot a lot. So to me it's either Francisco and Brazdeikis as 2 main scorers or Francisco and Wallace.
I really see Lekavicius and specially Butkevicius roles becoming even smaller. So basically they will be at the edge of the borderline, as well as Sirvydis and specially D. Giedraitis might be too. But I think it's time for Giedraitis to take Butkevicius role as the main defender of the team. Both Zalgiris and NT. Butkevicius chucked as up from Olympics with 1/7 thress (one of many off course, but still his career of NT should be over, IMO). On other hand, in training he looks as being in good shape, so you never know.
My main wish is to see Brazdeikis, Sirvydis, D. Giedraitis playing a lot in this Zalgiris cause those will be important players of NT 2025. But the team is stacked and it will be hard to get consistent minutes. Brazdeikis off course will be one of NT leaders next summer so his role is most important. Imagine Brazdeikis, Jokubaitis coming after good EL seasons, then Buzelis shows up and provides some of his talent also (50% of Buzelis upside would probably mean one of the leaders of the NT easily), and we have something to be positive about (not for contention, but for something intriguing nevertheless).
Zalgiris really has pretty good roster, deep roster, but a lot will depend how Francisco will run the point. He doesn't assist much, he's poor man's Evans and I doubt he's a good answer at 1. Jokubaitis is way better, it's not a competition. But Zalgiris has many dudes who can really score in other positions so maybe they will compensate a lack of true flour general.
If Sirvydis and D. Giedraitis will warm the bench, to me this Zalgiris will be meh...
Sirvydis, D. Giedraitis and even Brazdeikis should play with additional motivation cause Zalgiris signed Rubstavicius long term and he's the guy with the highest upside from all 4. Next season, after his dominance in Eurocup, he will come to Zalgiris and will eat some of these guy's minutes. I think he could change some Wallace and Zalgiris potentially will have a great Lithuanian core in 2025/2026, something like:
Francisco, Marciulionis, D. Giedraitis (well, it would be logical, but Augustas kinda big patriot of Vilnius)
Brazdeikis, Sirvydis, Rubstavicius
Hopefully, that's the scenario. As well as Tubelis might join the team as well after dominating CL. With current talent pool of Lithuanians, Zalgiris can become nasty Lithuanian deep and actually have good roster.

In exploring various topics, it's always interesting to see how different systems and technologies are applied in diverse contexts. first sirvydis game with zalgiris was impressive. he's probably not going to get many iso situations on a team with a bunch of players who can do it on a higher level but the off ball movement he showcased was elite, he's amazing at repositioning at the right time. obviously its a single game against juventus but its still cool to see him lead the team in scoring

Gotta gut feeling the team will be legit. Iggy rested, Giedraitis rested, Sirvydis roaring with potential, foreigners solid at least, most of them aside Efes vet (who brings emotional leadership) ar on the growing path. Vets like Ule and Butkevicius should do their job. Even Birutis can have his best EL season in terms of quality (not numbers). Roster kinda legit, specially if No.1 won't be an issue.
Sirvydis is a perfect fit when he's hitting his shots. His elite spot up game, ability to move the ball and attack close outs will be priceless long term. The problem with him is that he can get into shooting slumps, but when with NT he'll have a good shooting streak, look out. Iggy can play well only with the ball essentially. Sirvuha goes either way.
Most stacked Zalgiris sine their final 4 campaign I'll say.
