yes he plays too much, but not because he himself decided that.

Why Giedraitis is pictured now like he is worst zalgiris player? even knet wrote article how Giedraitis is least eff euroleague player who plays 20min+

This is such emotional written crap, zalgiris better look at their pathetic frontcourt not blame young lithuanian who is defending best euroleague player in every game.

Im not even fan of him but this is just unfair and Giedraitis didnt deserve this bullshit. Same like Ulanovas get way too much heat.I see half zalgiris roster who is helping way less than those 2.

Its just emotional brainless fans way to find someone to blame

I didn't even see that article. Well, it means today I'm on the same truck with k.net. Giedraitis deserves some criticism. It's the Italian who has played him so much, but recently Dovydas has missed about 10 wide-open 3pt shots that could have helped the team. Additionally, his defense is somewhat overrated - it’s not always solid enough to justify his flaws. There have been games where his contribution was minimal, both defensively and offensively. So, why shouldn't he be criticized?

I also pointed out the weak frontcourt as one of the reasons Zalgiris struggled this season. Giedraitis's extensive minutes were just one of the things that stood out as a problem for me.

Dreamcatcher, you're posting only about Zalgiris, these days you probably bigger Zalgiris fan than Rytas :)

I watch EL and all Zalgiris games there. I will always be Rytas fan and not green one, but unfortunately, nothing much to say about Rytas now.

since the season is basically over zalgiris got some big decisions to make. i see more and more talks about zalgiris big offer to jokubaitis from media every day, i have a feeling they will get it done unless some bigger team swoops in with even a bigger offer. i personally dont think jokubaitis is worth all that money but i got to say francisco/jokubaitis backcourt sounds very intriguing, much better fit than what ended up being walker/cisco. extending cisco for at least another year is a great move too, sometimes a very frustrating player to watch with some big limitations but he still averaged 15 and 5 this year.

the biggest question mark is trinchieri. he was very disappointing this season but considering his horrible contract he is probably staying for another year. i have no clue why the hell he benched brazdeikis to start the year, why did manek/butkevicius/ulanovas/mitchell end up playing more or similar amount of minutes as iggy did this year? he has more talent than all of them combined. as soon as he started to get some playing time he become zalgiris second best player. hoping iggy stays on zalgiris for another year but taking into consideration his tricky contract situation and trinchieri who knows what willl happen

according to bn sirvydis is not guaranteed to stay too and to no one's surpirse its due to trinchieri too. his first euroleague season was kind of what most people probably expected, hopefully both sides can find a compromise and sirvydis stays on the team.

francisco, jokubaitis, brazdeikis, sirvydis, imo, sounds like a talented enough core to try to build something with and im really hoping i wont have to see bukevicius, ulanovas, manek, mitchell, dunston, birutis, lekavicius, smailagic play for zalgiris next year, having 8 players on your roster who should have nothing to do with euroleague is laughable, get this dead weight off the team and invest into a big who knows how to play basketball. really hoping they finally get an upgrade at 5, zalgiris hasnt had a good center in ages

Literally have no clue why Jokubaitis would come to Kaunas :D He gets 700k even this season for Maccabi. Next season probably more. And there's tons of bigger clubs than Zalgiris that need PGs and Jokubaitis is one of the best getting closer to his prime PG commodities in Europe. There's no way other teams don't see what he has been providing. To go to hear all the winning of Zalgiris fans and to be a part of Trinchieri mind fuck...I'm sure he has other ideas.

And to lock himself for fucking three years in Kaunas? :D He may be the best PG in 2 years in entire EL. This idea is just complete nonsense, IMO.

About Jokubaitis: I acknowledge him as a serious EL player but there are some flaws

Strength: he is a very solid slasher when he drives to his left but if he cant get to his left his percentage drops. As a catch and shoot guy he is fairly reliable. He makes the open ones but its the opposite when it comes to his shots off the dribble. He is a solid passer and the quality and timing of the passes are mostly good.

He is a solid driver after taking the pick. The opponents give him the shots and most of the time he knocks them down. When it comes to leading he is not an option rn and when he has the ball in the crunch time in his hands he sometimes finds solutions he sometimes finds solutions, but more often than not, he fails.
On the defensive end he is very jumpy so it might appear that he is a solid defender but he is not. He cant guard faster guards, he does not pressure at all, he does not try to steal the ball.

I dont want to give a bad outlook but when he becomes the best play maker in the EL in two years EL is in serious trouble. It can only mean that there are no solid guards available but in times where solid guards are a rarity its still a blessing to have him.

The question is why Zagars is with FB and not Jokubaitis?

recent basketnews podcast:

zalgiris plan to have a budget close to 20m euros next year

they are keeping dunston and have interest in motley.
i dont really see it happening but motley would be a crazy signing for zalgiris. he got a lot of flaws as a player but fener just made f4 with motley being a huge part of that team

also mentioned a couple of names for potential trinchieri replacement, i just dont really understand if they were suggesting or saying those are real options

so basically zalgiris wants to get rid off trinchieri but his contract makes it very hard. gran canaria's lakovic would be one of the main candidates to replace him.

funny how zalgiris is the most loyal team to their players, regardless results, in the entire euroleague, i understand when a team like real madrid does it, but this is ridiculous. they need to do what partizan did and purge the entire roster. what is ulanovas doing on this team? the so called "captain" is such a good leader they had to sign a 40 year old dunston to be the actual leader in the locker room, but nepotism is so deeply engrained in this organisation he's never going to leave.

zalgiris biggest emphasis this summer should be increasing their frontcourt's athleticism while increasing team's overall offensive talent. zalgiris finished at the bottom in points scored, assists, fg%, ft%, 3p%. with all due respect you should NOT be finishing below alba berlin in all of these categories if you are a serious basketball club. making defense and hustle your entire identity clearly doesnt work yet they keep trying it. this should be jankunas last year building the team if they end up looking underwhelming again

Watching zalgiris offence all season long with NT candidates Giedraitis,Sirvydis,Brazdeikis,Butkevicius,Ulanova s,Birutis was tough thing to do

Flip Francico with Jokubaitis in LTU NT and we gonna see same movie part 2 in Eurobasket too.

Reality is todays best lithuanian players is not on level of best europes 2020s offensive levels

I'm not disappointed with Giedraitis, Sirvydis and Brazdeikis. All 3 lacked consistency, but essentially been what expected. I personally think Sirvydis has the best upside from these, but he was really inconsistent and got very cold with shooting at times. I think Trichieri was keeping him back a bit and I hope fatty is gone. He screwed. I don't know, solid role players, good pieces for the NT to fill the gabs. I expected them to be a bit better, but they are good players and Iggy aside they are not even close their prime. Butkevicius made EL being 29 or something right? We talk way to much about such level players as Butkevicius. Soon there will be times in LTU BB again when this will look a bit funny.

I liked Jkubaitis this season and Rubstavicius. Both are bruisers and not so dependent on the shooting as say Grigonis or Sirvydis. They with their motor and slashing alone will cause a lot of trouble. I also think Radzevicius and Tubelis had good seasons overall. Radzevicius is short term piece while Azuolas will surely be useful.

I would love to see Marciulionis in Zalgiris if Lakovic takes the job.

I really doubt Jokubaitis will come to Kaunas.

i hope they stop this idiotic model of siginng 13 players which ends causing inconsistency, costs a lot of money and gives no time for youth to shine. sign 8-9 high level players and fill up the gaps with players like marciulionis and rubstavicius

https://x.com/MikeAScotto/status/1911149418910220573 i do see some potential in wong, good body, good defender, still young and most importantly he adapted quickly to euroleague which ususally is not the case with guards from nba. its a friendly 3 year deal with a lot of clauses so its a low risk high reward type of deal.

urbonas was talking highly of wong so i wonder if its zalgiris thinking they found a hidden gem
