Here's a sobering thought: what if the parents of the kids were already US and Canadian citizens at the time their children were born? This makes the kids automatically ineligible for natural-born Philippine citizenship. I have a feeling such is the case with Hepa and David. And that Rodenas kid.

Parents have different priorities for their children, and even if the SBP used all the tricks and avenues available, they might not be enough. And we just have to live with their choices.
    Keep running, big boy.

They can still get Philippine Passports one of the parents (the pinoy one) should just get a dual citizenship from a philippine embassy then the parent and the child can get a Philippine Passport. Not that complicated if the kid( parents)and our basketball officials want the kid to play for us.

      • David plays for Canada at the Nike Global Challenge.

That's too cruel. Just bar him from entering the PBA in the event his NBA plans fizzle out and he decides to play here as a last resort.

                            • Fil-Am Michael Williams has recently team up with NBA stars Nick Young, Demar DeRozan and Jarret Jack in An L.A. summer recreational league... This player if not for the PBA Draft restrictive requirements could have been playing in the Philippines but looks like he is on the verge pursuing a different path and just play recreational ball... The same with Jason Brickman as I gathered is contemplating to practice his degree in I.T. ... Remember these guys are college graduates they can surely find jobs and earning than wait for the 27 year old PBA draft rule for Fil-foreign players...
