"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

I stand to be corrected on this.
nowadays I seldom watch the league because of so many obvious reasons and work related as well.
I tune in to watch the last 5 mins. of ROS vs. NBP game with Grandpa Dean utterly said that Zavier had obtained his PH docs before his 16th birthday therefore the dude is automatically FIBA eligible.
I dunno if my pair of ears heard it right but I'm hoping someone from IBNverse had a better audio on this.
Fil-Mexican Zavier Lucero had 28 Pts. and 7 Rebs in a losing effort.
ROS 115
NBP 105

Maybe Lucero is in the same situation or at least that's what it appears.
Quinito Henson's analysis/oppinions in basketball may be ridiculous at times, but in terms of information, I think he is reliable & accurate most of the time."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Little bit OT: But the question is now grower and grower each day... Are volleyball is now considered as number 1 sport in the Philippines or it is still Basketball? What do you think?
There are the factors that determine the popularity of the sport:
1.) Local league popularity
2.) National team popularity and success internationally
3.) Grassroots
4.) Number of people who playing the sport
5.) Players popularity
6.) Salaries, endorsement of the players
What do you think the factors here that basketball is leading in that category or Volleyball? But for sure, Basketball and Volleyball are now officially number 1 and 2 sports in the Philippines... Boxing, Who is always number 2 in past years and decades are already in decline after Pacquiao's retirement...

Sure, it's becoming popular among girls and university students, but when I go to the streets, it's still basketball.
As for your criteria, basketball easily takes 1-5, from what I've seen.
