Uaap Season 76 new recruits

He will turn 20 this October, It's not clear yet if how many years he has to sit out. Google his YouTube vid I think you will get excited

I'm guessing same as Jason Perkins, 1 year. Speaking of Jason Perkins, hope he can bring in his uncle Kendrick to give an inspirational speech for DLSU and maybe the UAAP as a whole.

So it's very clear that the aggressive recruitment is far from over and Danding is still writing blank checks just to get these players to play for DLSU.

there are so many new overseas recruits for next season. i think we will be surprised to see many regulars which are going to be relegated back to team b next season. i'm expecting tratter, sargent and mj to be automatic shoo ins for next season.

grabe. danding is really serious in forming what could be the strongest team in uaap history.

So thomas torres, kib montalbo or mac tallo will be the next players to transfer?

Mac Tallo has already packed his bags and left the dorm a month or so ago to transfer to SWU. And it's not because of lack of playing time, if you know what I mean.

maybe even axel would leave the team in the future. it's already his 2nd yr yet the odds of him getting to team a is unlikely. I even have my doubts if bolick could make it to team a. he probably wont given that much playing time this season, but next season the three recruits + mustre will be playing already.

From the video, he looks to be around 5'8"-ish, unless the other players are super tall that they make him look like it.

He doesn't seem to be an offensive-minded guard, more of a pass-first type. Very athletic, excellent ball handling passing skills and court vision especially in the open court. Didn't see much half-court sets in the video, so I really can't tell how well he does on them.

This is slowly becoming a green archers recruits thread. Heheh! Anyway, it is still on topic so I guess it's fine.

Re Bolick, I think his spot on the team is safe based from how Coach Gee has utilized him so far in the preseason. A very good defender against opposing guards and also has the offensive skills if needed. Good range and can shoot the three. Very good ball handling skills, and sometimes assume the point guard role in certain stretches of the game.

any news on ateneo recruitment?

since they're lacking a lot of key players this season i'm expecting that they'll be bringing in a lot of fil-ams to be ready for next season.

they have a very big pure import doing residency which should be eligible for next season but people say he's not on the same level as mbala.

head scratching why DLSU is doing this..they have like 25 players now, granted that a bunch of them would need residency...still, wala na bang next year or next next year to recruit? it seems like they're recruiting like it's their last.

The team is bearing the weight of the pumaren era recruitment pa kasi which wasn't really a good recruiting batch. The team wants to assemble a team from scratch getting only the finest recruits yet that have to give the veteran players a chance to prove to them that they deserve a spot.

Actually this season they only have two local recruits, Kib and Bolick. All the rest are fil-am players (salem, perkins, haruna, the three new guys), and its understandable why they are hoarding these players. These players are still scarce resources and there's no "yearly supply".

Tallo is not with the team anymore, No one will transfer na, especially this part of the year almost all of the teams have figured it out who will be their final line up this coming UAAP season

DLSU is doing a Petron, hoarding the best players around. Hopefully they don't end up like Petron though....

Players who will not get playing time should just wait for their turn. At the end, it's the championship's that's important.

I'm guessing and hoping it wont turn out the same way. lasalle has a monopoly over fil-am recruitment, and brute force goes a long way in college basketball. You can get away with sheer individual talent even with average coaching. The disparity of individual player ability in the UAAP is wide, while it's not that wide in the PBA hence coaching is a crucial factor....

Thats how danding does his business...monopoly...he'd rather have these talents rot in his bench instead of beating them...

you'll notice that they're farming deep connections with other schools as well like SWU or baste. While ateneo was irritating other schools like UV or FEU, danding is doing the opposite. Clever, very haciendero style operations. They don't compete with your immediately. They try to talk with you first and find the possibility of exchanging favors. Very trust based way to do business. MVP-ateneo style is direct competition kaya slaughter and pingoy werent given their respective school's blessing.

to be fair to them, if a player wants to leave they give release clauses naman. they just want a right of first refusal over the blue chips....if they dont feel like ur good enough they'll allow you to leave for another school whether it be ateneo or ust.

^^ MVP could still learn a thing or two about management. You just can't walk straight down the middle aisle, get your way and piss everyone off. Even Obama needed to foster friendships in Congress given that majority of which were Republicans at that time. Danding with all his political and business connections would do the opposite. MVP should realize that there are some things that can be ironed out over a game of golf or a bottle of beer. But his personality isn't really like that. He'd rather send Paolo Trillo to see the recruits and do the below the line type of work.

He's a retiree turned full-time team manager. Now it makes Paolo Trillo look like a kindergarten student with his puny recruitment pitches. This is a definite possibility though. The DLSU team now is closing out games with final scores in the 90 point range. When the flood gates for fil-ams open, add Mbala to that mix and you'll have a team with so much firepower. That's hard to top on the college level given the available talent for that pool. Not much options for other teams.

Maybe it's just me, but it's probably Mike Cortez 2.0? From that video, you can visualize what clusterf*cking he'd be able to do with an Mbala type player.
