I hope, Tanjevic is fair for minutes especially; Serhat, Sinan,Doğuş and even Oğuz are very talented players for bench, if they are in form, we will be very high chance for playing semi-final.

Breaking news:Onan is out because of injury,Birkan Batuk is back again in the roster. That means a greater role for Serhat Cetin.

Birkan Batuk is also talented player, but I think Cenk Akyol would be a better option:(

WHAT?!!!
AHAHAAAH.

Who would have thought.
For weeks, everyone here have been wishing for this.
Now... here we stand.
"Başka bir şey isteseymişim olacakmış!"

Whatever voodoo it was that Janketa was trying, it worked :D

hahahahahaha...
I wish him all the best and long life, but regarding basketball I hope this injury will speed up his retirement.
There is much more space for Serhat now...

So this must be the unofficial retirement of Omer Onan for the Turkish NT.

For the Turkish fans who prefer Batuk over Onan. The Turkish National team is functioning because of a solid system Tanjevic has worked on since 2006. The guards Tanjevic used were perhaps not excellent players, but their basic role was execution within the system. Tunceri and Onan (although moderate guards) could function well in this system, because they executed nicely. This is why Tanjevic went for Onan at 35 rather than any other player. New players MAY be more talented, but against the stronger teams in do or die moments Turkey will have to rely on the working system rather than the guards talent.

I think you are confusing something. They didn't give Onan's role to Batuk, they just called him for completeing the roster.I'm pretty sure Cetin will have Onan's role and Batuk will try to help him with his aggresive defense in the remaining minutes, which means a better role distribution imo.

Either way, Onan and Tunceri are out of the tournament and the new guards will execute the plays for Turkey.

From NT for sure but not from Fener I am afraid:mad:

Onan moderate guard that execute nicely? That's your opinion, but I think he is terrible guard who ruined every game he played. The worst player I ever watched.
There is something in that player I allways hated and that is over the years he didn't improve his game but on the contrary he become paradigm of idiotics plays and moves. I saw many untalented players in their twenties but they improved and become solid players throw years. Tunceri is, we could say good example, and all what you sad is right for him. But Onan, my friend is too far to be even called a basketball player.

Janketa, man, you're killing it.
In time things may have changed, and I agree this NT should not have relied on him, but Omer Onan was a pretty solid contributor once (while with Efes and on early days with Fener).

That's what I sad, in his early days he was untalented but young and with space to improve his game. But he didn't and that's problem.
I don't want to spam this thread with Onan anymore because he is out. When EL start we will see what will Zeljko do with him...

Well, let's all thank him for his contribution and move on... I hope some other people take example of him, and leave their posts...

Now, we gotta start from scratch... and have something exciting for 2015 Ukraine :)
