I'm sure we all agree, that there would have been better and younger players out there during the offseason, but the Knicks didn't have many possibilities due to their cap. I think they made the best out of what they had available. There was interest in many other players, but they simply couldn't pay them enough to actually get them to sign. So they decided to bring in plenty of experience and toughness. If these guys can manage to stay fairly healthy, this could be an interesting season. The team has improved in my eyes, although with very little time available. As a serious title thread I can't yet imagine them anyway, but I'm very curious to see the outcome of this.

Carmelo Anthony will be playing as a power forward while Stoudemire is sidelined with a knee cyst. Now, Anthony is no stranger to playing the four as he has experience with the four with Team USA last summer.

The area on which Anthony operates when playing the four brings out the best on his decision making. Help defense is far quicker to respond and this gives Anthony the natural instinct on being a much more quick reader. As far as offensive arsenal goes, Anthony has the ff:

1. Back Down - Face Up
2. Fall Away Shot from the Back Down
3. Pivot from the Backing Down Shoulder Padding

On defense, that will be the challenge for Anthony. Rebounding wise, he is +2.1 when playing the four. Also, he shoots at a higher percentage within the four area.

An interesting fact from Sabermetrics revealed that within the past two seasons, the established SF's in the NBA are logging in increased minutes in playing the four. LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Rudy Gay, Danilo Gallinari and Andre Iguodala were the sample objects.
 
Hmm, I'm very curious to see how Melo performs as a PF in a series of games, especially if he finds a strong, scoring PF against him
 
Center Tyson Chandler will undergo an MRI today to determine his left knee's status.
 
New York leading Miami 81-63 as we are nearing end for the third quarter. Three point shooting and offensive rebounds leading to second chance points are the keys of the game so far. Carmelo Anthony with 26 points and 9 rebounds so far.
 
New York Knicks winning their season opener against the defending NBA Champions, the Miami HEAT with a 104-84 rout. Carmelo Anthony lead five other Knicks players in scoring double digits with 30 points and 10 rebounds.

Steve Novak was 5-8 from beyond the arc.
 
This could be the start of Felton and Anthony playing the drive-kick two man game. Knicks fans could not get to see it as Felton was packaged on that Anthony trade.

The Knicks are currently 5-0 and is the only NBA team that have yet to lose. They will put that record in the line against the San Antonio Spurs.
 
Amare Stoudemire told the NY Post that he is targeting a Christmas Day return. Stoudemire also said that he is willing to come off the bench as he works his way into the rotation.

Awesome game by Copeland! He had 29 points (11/19 FG, 3/5 3PT, 4/4 FT) to go along with 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block in a losing effort to the Rockets.
