Today the FLB received the notice from FIBA with the following demands:

- Overcome or Suspend all the civil court decisions in 7 days.
- An agreement signed during the period of 7 days between the FLB, the clubs, Sports Ministry & the Olympic committee and send to FIBA in English.
- If time helps, to continue and finish the league without any outside influences.
- All the parties who appealed to FIBA, will receive their final notice during the next three months.

FIBA wants all the documents/answers before 5 July, 2013. In case the FLB fails to meet the deadline they are going to take serious actions towards the Lebanese participation's in any FIBA sanctioned tournament for a long time.

We need a miracle in 7 days to play in Asia this year. It's not looking good at all. Specially when members of the FLB are resigning from their positions.

Thank you for the summary. That kind of thing happened here. Disputes within the league should always be settle within the league. Good luck and we hope you have a solution.

Wow..I sympathize with you..Philippines been this kind of political mess..damned..hope everything would be ok..

Really you really love your basketball.. just like us things go over complicated if you love the sport that much..FIBA just want to make sure that you fix those things if your federation cannot solve it quickly..

We are in a huge crisis right now, everybody who love the number one sport in Lebanon should realize that Lebanon has only left four days to save this sport from stopping so all the clubs should remove today all the charges done on the federation and if they didn't remove them, this will show to all of us that these clubs don't care about Lebanon nor about the most successful and best sport to us.All the clubs that didn't remove the charges till now should wakeup that Lebanon is on the line and they should put their egoes aside to prevent missing our chances to be in the world cup for the fourth time or we will say goodbye basketball, hoping that this crisis will be over before 5 July.

^ Do you think someone cares about the country?!

Charbel Sleyman = The problem....he's the president's son....that's even worse.

I know this is not much, but my prayers are with you guys. We (the Philippines) got suspended by FIBA not long ago. Trust me, it was one of the most depressing times as an international basketball fan. Just when we had semi concrete plans to gain back the respect we once had, along came the suspension. Also no basketball during South East Asian Games held in Manila.

My sympathy guys...

Are the impending FIBA sanctions related to JK and how he's being forced to join the NT? Or is it about something else?

Does jk decision of playing and not playing with national team has been influenced by these problems by the federation? Its easy to blame the guy but uncertainty or problems like this will surely cast doubt on his decision to play..i'm just trying to put myself on him..being lebanon for less than a year..looking forward to play but the season was suspended indefinitely due to political intervention (court). .but if he ask for more money then that's another issue..

I doubt Julian's decision to play with the NT is related to the problems that the federation is facing... Some media sources mentioned that Julian said that he will only play with the Lebanese NT if the federation and head coach are both changed but many people are saying that if he indeed said such things it would only mean that someone is affecting his decision and misleading him to say such things

Some updates for everyone

- Fadi joined the NT yesterday.
- Loren Woods will join in Taipei.
- JK requested till 6 July to take his final decision.
- The NT will leave to Taipei this Thursday and then to the Philippines for a closed training camp before AC.
- FLB decided to continue the league after the NT returns. It will be around September.
- Still nothing regarding the legal case.
- An agreement was sent by the FLB to each club asking their signatures before Wednesday 3 July, 2012.
- The FLB called for a public associated meeting to edit some of their regulations to avoid such problems in the future.

Seems like julian's case is positive. We dt want to put wrong hopes anymore so let's wait for his final decision. I am happy that el khatib is excited to play his motivation means a lot for the players. I dt think we will show great results in jones cup after all fadi barely had some training sessions though he is still in shape as i read and lo didn't train at all.

I hope that the federation could solve all the problems and get rid of them before the deadline date which is 5 july.About our roster for jones cup,it is missing again pure three point shooters like Omar El Turk,Rony Fahed and Matt Freije but this does not mean that we have a bad roster with some young talented shooters like Ali Haidar and Bachir Ammoury. In addition to that if Julian Khazzouh joins the NT in philippines he will helps us a lot either from beyond the arc or under the basket since he is a complete player. The best starting roster for jones cup:1-Ali Mahmoud,2-Jean Abdelnour,3-Fadi El Khatib,4-Ali Haidar,5-Loren Woods

By the way till now nothing has been done regarding the warning letter that FIBA sent us!!! I don't know why this issue is being kept pending like this!!! We only have until Friday and if no solution is reached then RIP Lebanese NT and Lebanese basketball.

When politics messes with something it should not mess with, everything goes haywire. If they dont resolve it then that goes to show they are not basketball fans but powermongers. shame on them. I hope and pray everything goes well before the deadline. I would want to see more of Lebanese basket in the future.

The NT is travelling right now to Taipei. I just hope they will stay there and continue the road to Manilla.
No efforts from the clubs yet. It's looking good at all. Hope they aren't waiting till the last minutes and realize they've missed one week try to bully each other.

If Lebanon will be suspended(hope not) what country will replace the Lebanese NT in Manila?

Khalid, Though I don't have details on what is happening, but I don't think and I hope that FIBA will not be that harsh and make such hasty move. Lebanon is one of the contenders and a significant team/ country in FIBA ASIA and even in the world stage.

We'll see your team in Manila :)
