It’s final, Joe Devance is now a B-Meg Derby Ace Llamado while KG Canaleta and Jondan Salvador are now with the Air21 Express.

After two days of studying the trade transaction, Philippine Basketball Association commissioner Atty. Chito Salud approved the two-team, three-player deal.

“Two big men in exchange for Devance? I think that’s fair enough," Salud told GMA News. “But it took me two days before I finally made a decision because I wanted to carefully study the trade. In the end, I felt the trade is fair enough for both squads."

Devance will be playing in his third team in the past four seasons. He first suited up for the Welcoat Dragons (now Rain or Shine Elasto Painters), but was traded for Sol Mercado in the 2008-2009 season.

Only last week, the 6-foot-7 Fil-foreign player was shipped by the Aces to the Express for Jay-R Reyes. After a two-day stopover with Air21, Devance was sent to the Llamados, ending his turbulent journey in yet the best season of his career.

Canaleta, a multi-titled Slam Dunk champion, is returning to his original team. He was part of the Express squad that made it all the way to the Finals of the 2008 Fiesta Conference but lost to Barangay Ginebra.

Salvador, an undersized power forward, will help shore up the Express frontline. The team has Danny Seigle, Dorian Pena and Carlo Sharma alternating up front. - Rey Joble/OMG, GMA News

Carlo Sharma & Jondan Salvador now teammates.:D

Another team eyeing this most improved player(unofficial) from a low profile team whose a known banger and physical post player.

Devance goes to Bmeg, Canaleta and Salvador to Air21. Hmmm ...

JDV has one of the most extensive offensive skillsets in the league. He can shoot from way out, can dribble and handle the ball like a point, and is a pretty good finisher. Pretty tall too. Not much of a defender, but more than makes up for it with his vast arsenal of offensive weapons. A walking mismatch, they say.

Air21 gets Nino Canaleta, an on-and-off scorer (mostly off :D) who has fallen in love with taking awful, ill-advised threes and outside shots. Too clumsy to guard smaller and quicker 2s and 3s, and too much of a lightweight to handle burlier 4s and 5s. He can occasionally block shots though. Jondan Salvador, an oft-injured undersized 4 with very limited scoring abilities. His heft and bulk (very useful in clogging the paint) have been hell on his knees though. Hence, the gimpy legs.

Lopsided much?

Heck, I'd even trade Rabeh and NoyB just to get Devance, and we all know how hard it was for SMB to get them.

why do the commissioner approve the devance to bmeg trade? si jondan and KG are that good enough? jondan even have no playing time with bmeg... i really wonder why

Mark Andaya is better than Jondan.....Andaya is practicing nOw with BMEG..

I think this JDV for Canaleta-Salvador trade is even more heinous than the Rabeh-NoyB-Guevarra for DHonts-Seigle-Pena-Artadi trade. This is just highway robbery. A farce. Bentang palugi ba.

for ginebra fans, it's highway robbery....though if devance was traded to ginebra for jimbo aquino and willie wilson, they would say it's fair..

But this is supposed to be "SALUD Era". Wherein we are looking for FAIR TRADES. Forget the past. But really? Is Devance for Jondan/Canaleta fair? from an objective standpoint

Damn Bmeg got Joe DeVance while Ginebra might get Erick Rodriguez. Bmeg has 7 big men now while Ginebra only have 3, assuming ERod will be signed by Jong.

BMeg wants to make a statement, they've collected the best biggies in the PBA. Lol.

Nope. Being a BGK fan, that still ain't fair. It would be advantageous, but nowhere near being fair. Throw Intal into the mix, and maybe then I'd say sure.
