Kudos to Gilas guys..they play gave it their all..

Its a no brainer Asi,Kelly must be retained.. they give us a pretty good inside presence this whole tournament

IMO, Tiu and Barroca can be replaced with bigger guards like Banchero, JYap , Parks

Eventhough we lose, its only a short margin.. and a pretty competitive one too..at least we see that we arent that far ahead from them. im sure come 2011, when we have Douthit, Aguilar and other replacements, big possibility we can beat them if ever we face again

Asi should take a break from this tournament, for me he has done more than enough, he deserves a break. preserve his body again for next year. Now that we really dont have much to lose I wish that Toro should field Slaughter on the next 2 games. Heck, put all the guys that was barely used and let them prove themselves and fight for their spot in the NT in the next 2 games.

Good job PH team.

Keep your heads up.

We can still be better come FIBA Asia 2011.

Now we know that there are players that need to be replaced.

What we need is to replace a guard or two with ala James Yap type of player.

Get a bigger guard who can play pos 1-3 (Norwood is still my bet)

A shake up in the line up should happen.

ASI should still play for RP team. Kelly as well. Sol- injured, so still needs to be evaluated

PH Team sure can hang with the big boys wven with a depleted and small line up...but I don't want us to be chasing and hanging.

I want us to Win:cool:

I couldn't agree more...

But in God's proper timing bro. And hopefully that would be next year... A little tweaking in our line up would perhaps do wonders... What's more important in today's game is we've known that beating the likes of Sokor is not a long shot anymore...

Kunting panahon na lang and we are going to reap what we all sow!
Just believe... And keep our faith alive...

Chris Tiu is really an eyesore!! i don't know why Toroman can't see this. He was abused by #4 and #6. he's just too small, too slow, too inconsistent to be playing shooting guard in international level. He also have two missed shots on the last minute of the game when we cut the lead to 4.

IM AFRAID IF TOROMAN WILL STICK WITH HIS MAN CRUSH ON TIU THE WHOLE PROGRAM IS A WASTE OF TIME, MONEY AND EFFORT.

even though we lost im still proud of this team...

GOOD LUCK GILAS!!!

Overall, SG played better as a team than Powerade despite being undermanned.Japeth is a key player to lose in the offense and defense of Gilas.Japeth averages 8-10 points a game but his rebounding and intimidating presence is missing here in asian games plus the adrenalin that he can give.I am just wondering if he was playing alongside kelly, the outcome might have been different. And that will show next year.Asi will play as PF next year and SG is a complete team. But we really need to find a reliable pure shooter which we really didn't have in this current SG squad.

if powerade team was not dibanded, if they continued that program, with this kind of system i think--------.......remember rp team loss by 2 pts 80-82 to korea last FIBA asia..

Korea was 8 of 10 from d FT line, Smart-Gilas was 12 of 20. We missed 8 FTs. We lost by 8. Ironic.

They can shoot "but not quite". And that is a big challenge. We don't need that.We need a pure shooter.Ritualo could have made those open 3s rather than these guys.Lutz,Barooca,Tiu and Mercado are a big question. They are suppose to be the gunners. We need an iceman like ACaidic. The Koreans played zone like CTaipei and it's obvious why, They don't trust our shooters to connect.

it is painful that we lost but not as painful as busan.. and actually i kinda agree with everyone that despite our team predicting to have a medal failed, i still feel good about this loss.. why?????????????

because it is better to lose and know why we lost than lose because we don't know.. we lost our medal bid because of 3 things - rebounding, turnovers, and good shooting - all of which can be remedied..

as for rebounding, marcus will be with us next year and probably asi can make it back next year, plus kelly and japeth

as for turnovers, we still have a long way to go till next year so we can still polish our movements..

as for good shooting, it is all about mental toughness that each and every player knows they can shoot and besides, dylan ababou is not in the team and we can add james yap!!!

all our weaknesses were exposed and we know what to do, that is why i feel ok despite the heartbreaking loss..

and...

this South Korean Team is their REAL!!!! National Team.. and we lost to them by just that much, considering that we only had 8 healthy players (injured Japeth, Sol, Marcio and Tiu - groin)

we will bounce back next year!!! we have seen one of the best east asian teams.. we will be more prepared next year!!! i hope everyone in SBP does their job well..

MABUHAY ANG PILIPINAS!!!

South Korea was 8 of 10 from the Free Throw line, Smart-Gilas was 12 of 20. We missed 8 Free Throws. We lost by 8. How Ironic. :(

Of course they will play better as a team than powerade cause they were already practicing as a team since last year... Powerade was formed 1 month before Fiba-Asia... duh... :D:D:D

i hope this will be the last time i'll say 'bawi na lng sa susunod'...

So what's nxt for gilas? No other tourneys before the fiba asia? When's the fiba asia?

was Asi sent to the line multiple times? if he was responsible for most of the missed FTs then its fine. not even an Ageless Herculean Pinoy can do anything.

I'm not too disappointed with the outcome of this game....Gilas boys are doing a heck of a job for a "developmental team"...

it clearly showed which players had the biggest hearts...it was a revelation...The Koreans couldn't do anything to Asi when he was beasting it on the boards..you could see the look on their faces they were worried..

Asi Taulava has to be the most recognizable/popular Filipino player in the modern era.....

i therefore conclude that we need size in all positions.

toroman, please let japeth play 25 minutes per game before the fiba 2011 and let him make mistakes. that is the only way he'l learn and get better.

to japeth, be tough. lalambot lambot :D:D

thanks to tiu, barroca and lutz but they need to go.

Still need to win the remaining games if we want to avoid the lowest possible placing by a Philippine team in the Asian Games.

Korea is beatable despite their recent buildup. I'd say Gilas did a pretty good job considering Korea fielded in their best players. Just needed a little push to get over that hump.
