I imagine egypt is tired as well.

they went into overtime with sagese, and that game was physical

I think we are the underdogs against egypt.

they are the bigger team right?

lol wrong prediction green castle lost a tough one

to those who have seen the egyptians play, do you guys think we can match up with them? the first meeting we were murdered in the rebounds dept, isn't it?

toroman reached his said goal although I douthit:D championship is what gilas wants here,

any news about this phil media:cool:

A championship wouldn't be so bad. This will only go a long way into boosting their moral after the recent setback in the Asian games.

The planned PBA participation would also test the mettle of Gilas' and their resolve to grind it through an entire season with the best the PBA could offer.

Even if Gilas does not end up in the final 4 it would still be a good preparation and training for each individual players in playing physical one on one defense against talented pros.

Great 1st half.. Nervous second half.. Chris Tiu ended it for the Syrians.. Will be up for tomorrow's finals! Wait, it's tomorrow right?? The finals??

Its starts with "believing" Gilas can do it (We can), accompanied by prayers and dun by courage..We Will Be Triumphant Tomorrow!!!

The boys got tired in the second half and there was simply no talent depth on the bench to sustain the first half energy for 40 mins. This is were the PBA reinforcements will come in handy to ensure that we have the sustained energy on both offense and defense all throughout.

That's why we need to bring our best players in the land to the Olympic qualifier.

Good thing we can have PBA reinforcements. The team should compose of players where anyone can be a starting-five. Just hope that whoever Toroman chooses will be released by their mother team.

pba stint will only test if they can now defend well day in day out no matter how physical or soft the opposing team has

i think if Gilas wants to be consistent and reach an above 50% chances of winning the FIBA, they should add more elements to their game..

what they have or at least they have shown that they can have:

1. Good team defense.
2. Good enough outside shooting.
3. Fast breaks
4. Good enough rebounding

what they need and i think they could never have under the current line up:

1. More inside presence. Douthit alone is not enough. There should be two combination of Douthit and Asi playing together.
2. Individual defense specially the guards.
3. Slashers and penetrators the likes of Bahrami from Iran.

if they will have all of these, then they will have a big chance to win the FIBA.. if not, then we just have to pray hard that our outside shooting are clicking and our opponent are not!.....

anyway, congrats Gilas! you deserve to be in the final......

The Egyptian team is very physical and Toroman might have to field in a taller frontline with Douhtit at center, Ramos at the 4 and Mac Baracael at the 3. Even with this lineup the Egyptians would still kill us on the inside so our outside shooting must click here the same way it clicked with our revenge match against the Syrians today.

There will probably be moments during the game when Toroman will throw in Asi to play center while Douhtit plays the PF just to offset the Egyptian advantage in size. We can still use our speed at the 1,2,3 positions if we play JV, Tiu and Lassiter on the perimeter.

Make no mistake about it, tomorrow will be a war with lots of fouls and bruising contact on both ends of the court.

I imagine at one point, Douthit and Taulava will be fielded in at the same time vs Egypt.. Ramos will have plenty of time in the 4 spot.. Baracael might have his share with the 3 spot though Toroman will still use him as a 4 but not until good things don't happen..

they're huge man, and they got players who can score in every position

they play physical, play tough defense and are not easily intimidated.

if you could get a clip of their game against sagese just earlier, you'll see what i mean. their imports are almost afterthoughts in their offense.

I think so.

I hope egypt is tired cause that was some sick game game they had with sagese, went into OT|

Al Ittihad Alexandria has 3 imports, more than half of its players are members of the National Team of Egypt, it is the Champions of the Egypt Superleague and is among the Top 4 teams in both the African Club competitons and the Arab Club Championships. It is a very strong club team that use its size to its advantage.

To beat this team, we must play strong aggressive defense and we must execute our team plays both inside and outside. Turn overs is a major concern.

We could take advantage of the fact they are currently distracted with the street riots now happening in their country.

Well tomorrow will be a test on how Gilas can compete against giants

and how effective our scouting would be.

If Gilas can win convincingly tomorrow we have a good chance against the Iranians and hopefully the chinese come 2011

thou Egypt is big it's a good test and training
