Guys Mr. President has spoken.

Now he's showing us why he deserves to be called Mr. President.

Norwood, Williams and even Ranidel are shoo-ins for Fiba Asia 2013.

The guards we have can be replace at any given time before the actual championships.

One forumer in other threads posted the other guard candidates that can be included. For example; Castro, Casio, Pringle, Caguioa and many others.

More than anything the “issue” with the previous thread tells me how serious the SBP is intent in getting Pringle. This is something to look forward to even while his availability is yet to be confirmed. Trust me guys Stanley will be a game changer for us. This is no Rosser we are talking about, Stanley is the real legit deal. No one who post those numbers for Pitt and Europe and is that well sought by leagues globally can be a bust. The only issue is not his talent but the time to get him familiarised with the rest of this teammates.

I was just thinking this rummored trade (article below) for Japeth , could actually be good thing in terms of Japeth being available for the national team in the sense that it shares the load of players among a number of teams being loaned to the national team pool. Let's face it TNT has been strectched to the limit to the number of players it is lending to the pool ( is it 6 players already) Adding another player like Aguilar would deplete the TNT line-up or unecessary tire them out. If he goes to Global, from my count that would just be 3 Global players in the pool ( David, Casio and Japeth)

Global Port Eyes TNT’s Aguilar August 23, 2012, 8:37pmGlobal Port – the PBA’s newest team – appears determined to make its debut a satisfying and memorable one as it continues to cast a net hoping to capture the best talent still available.

Reports said the team is targeting Japeth Aguilar, the 6-9 first overall pick during the 2009 PBA Draft who came to the league with gale-force hype but has not lived up to his potential.

That does not seem to bother the management of Global Port, whose owner Mikee Romero is known not to leave any stone unturned to develop a champion team, even if will cost him an arm and a leg.

League sources said Talk ‘N Text has not renewed Aguilar’s three-year contract after it expired last July 31 and this has gotten the attention of Romero’s team.

Global Port is reportedly dangling center Rabah Al-Hussaini and forward Francis Allera in exchange for Aguilar.

Whether TNT will bite the bait remains to be seen as Al-Hussaini, despite a storied career as pillar of Ateneo’s recent championship runs, has not himself made an impact in the PBA.

He has been hounded by injuries and has seen minimal action the last two PBA seasons because of it.

There’s also some reports about his attitude which has not endeared him to coaches and co-players alike.

Global Port, which bought the Powerade franchise for P100 million, will build its team around Philippine Cup Best Player of the Conference Gary David and last year’s top rookie pick JVee Casio.

In other league development, a seven-man, three-team trade has been approved by the PBA Commissioner’s Office yesterday, with Air21 obtaining Rommel “KG” Canaleta and John Wilson from Barangay Ginebra, as well as Rob Reyes and Noy Baclao from Petron.

In return, the Kings received Elmer Espiritu plus the Express’ 2013 first round pick, while the Boosters got Paolo Hubalde and sophomore Magi Sison, plus a 2014 second round pick from Air21.

You are forgetting the fact the current NT coach is one of, if not THE reason, why Aguilar is leaving TNT.

For me its actually a lame nickname. I've been campaigning here in IBN that we call Gabe " Black Spider-Man" instead.
Now that's politicking:D

Not sure if it's politicking-- if it is, that's acceptable. What i can't take is that your suggestion is... corny :D (Not much of a fan of nicknames starting with Black "blah-blah" :D)

I am concerned about the player's conditioning here. The coaching staff should know on how to preserve our players. This is where Rajko's experience comes in. Chot must know his own move.

but wasn't Mon Fernandez called el-presidente, so why is acceptable for Mon but not for Gabe :)

Probably developing one too. This format takes its toll but there's a reason why NT's should be 12-man deep.

There's a trivia involved here as to why Fernandez was called El Presidente. And it's not because of how he plays the game, although he can claim to be at the highest perch of the office. He's called "The Franchise" because of how he plays the game - meaning that the team carrying him has made him the franchise player.

As for El Presidente, the reason for such is because he was the first ever President of the PBA Players' Association. The Association was formed back in the mid-80's and elected Don Ramon as their first president.
