Vesely vs Valanciunas right now

Vesely is not a PF. He is Center who can play PF. And please dont say you had watched him for a long time :)

Beautiful seeing Czechs dominating this game: CZ and BE seem to be crop of this group. This validates two tragic Estonian losses in the beginning of the tournament.

He was forced to play C, that's a different story. He is pure PF, who due to his athleticism can cover C and was forced to do it by Obradovic.

Well, offensively this team seems to be unable to do anything else but passing the ball to JV in the low post. The whole thing is as frustrating to watch as it was in 2009 only this time the competition is weaker. If some miracle doesn't happen, we won't go far, even with JV. Someone was comparing this team to 2013, but although 2013 team was struggling in the first stage too, they didn't look anywhere near as hopeless as now. Well, at least it's interesting to watch close endings, we've already had 3 of those and I'm hoping for one more tonight.

Richey666, I agree. Those two teams surpassed my expectations this year.

He cannot play PF very effective regarding the modern European basketball. His style is perfect center in any system.

In 2003 you had Kleiza whose performance rised game by game after group phase. In current Lithuania roster, there is no player like Kleiza can climb up and take the team to higher levels.

You are wrong, How did he play it in Partizan in all thise years?

He used to play SF in Partizan. So we can say he is pure SF :)

In Partizan years he had an average shooting ability, Navarro level comparing to the current shooting ability. He cannot shoot no matter where he is right now. That's why he cannot play PF very effectively.

You don't forget to shoot, you just need to practice it and get a chance for it. He was a forward wherever he played. He is a beast in transition, very good in D vs forwards (nit power Cs). It is an issue with the system and not the player. If you went with a good post C and him at PF you would be a much better team. The is the first team in his life taht he is playing C.

When Dangubic improved his shooting abilities i belive i could also then xD

I agree with the player with killing post would make the team better and help Vesely a lot. And Dubljevic would be the best player fitting with Vesely by switching the positions. But I dont think a pure center with post like Bourousis can help Vesely to play better.

Apparently Lithuania remembered Milaknis

Maciulis and Kuzminskas killed Czechs in 3rd quarter

Best performance by Lithuania so far in this championship.

You mean third quarter, I guess. Wish at least some of the Valanciunas elbows under the basket would be whistled though.
EDIT: Vesely out, psychologically outplayed by Valanciunas. Sad.

I'ts not over yet. Czechs are switching everything in defense and they might even be bette at it without Jan, rebounding though might be an issue there...
