Philippines womens NT

How about in youth pool program, Is there any players that can replicate VDJ's impact? And yeah, i hope a "REAL" PRO league for women ballers is a must.. I don't know if SGA's plan for having a professional league for women ballers will be push thru?

the likes of eligibles who already played for our U16 and U18 like Gabby Ramos, Kristin Yumul, Louna Ouzar, Fajardo sisters, Ryan Nair among others are not yet on the level of VDJ.

those girls need more exposure on high levels like US Div 1 tourneys and other FIBA related tourney or non-FIBA tourneys as well.

still, experience is the best teacher of all.

That's what having a Professional league comes in to develop their skills continuously... w/o a PRO league, their development will be slow because there no continuous games they will played w/o any FIBA schedule games...

The reason why Favour Onoh is a good fit for NP for Gilas women.. she is not good scorer, but she is very excellent rebounder… After Animam, we don’t have any good replacement for her position.. and even those two can play each other.. both also can run the floor, although we have to find VDJ replacement because her position is important too… I think we have several players especially in youth program that can replicate atleast 40% of her skillset… Anyone knows?

Naomi Panganiban from our U18 has a potential to be a good point guard. She would be fixture in our Gilas women. I believe she has a D1 offer already.

Among the names you mentioned only the Fajardo sisters are legit PG's.

except for Louna Ouzar who is now on her sophomore(?) year at UP, others that I've mentioned will be playing in the US with Gabby Ramos are already committed(?) to play in a div. 1 school.

seriously, we really do hope that those stakeholders may somehow establish that long awaited 5v5 Womens Professional League.

it's really about time.

Yes Sir Al I do agree.

but if you may see all those girls that I've mentioned had that guard skills that could be beneficial moving forward

good thing about the current system coach Pat is implementing for now is that he is exposing those players to play in the perimeter

that's a good sign

We didn’t qualify for group A.. they lost to malaysia

What? They just lose to the team that the sport basketball is not on their top 5 popular list? Maybe that line up was poorly construct... I hope this batch will deliver result.. We should be in Division A.. We are only country in ASEAN region who live and die thru basketball...

Well, not anyone always open their accounts in their forum every single day... Just recent FIBA U16 event, Gilas girls just demolished every ASEAN teams by mile... I think it was poorly construct line up... ASEAN teams can beat the Philippines in basketball if they have Naturalized players reinforcing their team... SBP has to take pride the sport of basketball even in ASEAN region.. We are the only country that loves basketball... Other ASEAN countries just put basketball just their top 5 sport, Not too much prioritize... Even Volleyball is slightly popular than basketball in ASEAN region..
